The orc moves closer to the door, gesturing for River to move from the door and let him take his place. I protect you now River. The orc then gets into a defensive position, ready to pounce on the first foe that shows his up.

Hearing a commotion, Tondrek trundles down the stairs to find the ruffians ruffianing. Bad peoples! Be bad not here or bad be here...like. Tondrek trails off, confused by what he meant to say, but pulls of a bit of metal and junk from his collection and quickly inscribes an arcane rune before tossing it into the air. It unfolds into two mechanical gears at side angles and what appears to be a sparking eye.
OOC: Move and use Punishing Eye: Its in the given square on the map, floating 5' above. Any enemy w/in 3 that is hit takes 7 additional psychic damage and none cannot benefit from concealment w/in 3 of it.

Not Your House!! Round One

The men all laugh and chuckle, drawing wicked looking clubs and blades.

The limited space makes it difficult to reach the kitchen, so the lead grunt just moves forward and takes a swing at River. He connects with his wild blow to the head. River feels blood trickle from the corner of his mouth. He's been hit harder.

The remaining goons move into the front room and smash through some books and shelves and tables. Their wonton destruction certainly evaporates any further concerns that these gentleman could be the neighborhood watch...

Move to current position, delay charge (+15 vs AC for 1d12+11 dmg, and mark) to Ruffian 1 until River moves out of the way.

River moves back. "Muzdum, hold the doorway." He fall back and project a bolt of light toward the ruffian who just attacked him.
