Ellowyl lifts her staff off the ground and waves her hand up and down its' length.

"Come ice and rise up from the deep. From beneath the soil where winter sleeps. Slicken earth and tumble foe. Pierce foot, and boot and armored sole."

Wintery frost gusted around the oaken implement, coating it with a white sheen. The high elf wizard thumped it down on the ground, and that coating of ice slid down into the earth and seemed to vanish.

Suddenly the dirt beneath the two drakes erupted in a slick carpet of ice that lanced up in a dozen or more sharp teeth while coating the ground in slippery ice as well! One of the drakes managed to hope clear, but the other emitted an unearthly wail as its feet were injured and it slipped and tumbled down on its side...momentarily at a disadvantage!

(Action: Icy Terrain on X-11, encompassing both drakes, on hit they are prone. Zone becomes difficult terrain until the end of my next turn.)

Ellowyn's display of power stops the advancing rabble short as they look to each other for support.

"Don't stand around!" the gnome yells putting his crossbow to his shoulder. He aims up the ravine and lets the bolt fly. It snaps into Galim's thigh with a thunk and an oath from the dwarf. "See they bleed just like anyone else! Kill them!"

Meanwhile Jotrek takes advantage of the drake that slipped by slipping his dagger across the creatures back and side.

As the drakes continue their advance, Marius takes a step back, pressing his back to the small cliff. The symbol of Correllon held before him like a ward, he murmurs another prayer to his god, and divine light cascades over his the melee, bathing both allies and the drakes in its glow. Even as the light flares, a second word is spoken, bolstering the halfling against the drakes' assault.

As the divine glow dies away the drakes continue to bite and snap at the dwarf and halfling. The gnome skulk laughs as his prize drakes tear at flesh and bone. "You won't be telling anyone of what you saw out here." he states laughing a little more. "Kalarel will be pleased to know a bunch of snooping good-doers could not stop the will of our Master."

On seeing one of the drakes finally fall, Ellowyl directs another ray of silvery-white light at the other creature barring their path! The spell lances out, leaving a thin patter of snow underneath it, and a generous splotch of ice and frostbite where it hits and lingers painfully on the drake's flesh!

Jotrek takes advantage of the wounded drake and brings his dagger in for a deft strike to finish it off.

Meanwhile Doral sees the landscape lose it's difficult and icy footing and so leaps out at the human rabble trying to catch them off guard. His shield comes up blocking one of the clubs as he brings his sword around. The blade slices through his first foe easily and cleaves to wound the second one. Both men fall to the ground clutching their stomachs as they try to keep their entrails from spilling out into the dirt.

The gnome watches in horror as his drakes go down, followed by half his men. Quickly reloading his crossbow he slips behind some tarps taking cover and neatly disappearing at the same time.
