As the group warily approaches the pit Ellowyn suddenly remembers something about the creatures 'guarding' the path.

"Guard Drakes! Be careful!" She warns the others just in time.

"Get them! Kill them!" the gnome yells as the drakes leap forward and the human rabble lift their picks menacingly.

1) I updated the map to account for the group walking a little closer as they talked.

2) This is a major fight so please excuse my noob-ish-ness in advance.

3) Please use the location of the monster you attack in your post so others may see if they are wounded or not.

4) Will post crunch of all monsters shortly for now just adding in the closest threats.

Marius is startled at the sudden change in the gnome's attitude, but Ellowyn's warning quickly pulls his gaze to the drakes and their impending approach. He holds up Corellon's symbol.

"Keep your creatures back!"

OOC:

Ready action (pg. 291) to attack use Lance of Faith on the first drake that approaches within 5 squares of him.
+4 vs. Reflex, 1d8+4
If the attack is triggered, since he hit, he will grant +2 to the next attack roll against the target by one ally of his choice. He will choose any ally that hasn't acted yet, with a priority on Galim.

The drakes leap up the incline and the light of Marius faith responds. As one of the creatures approaches Galim the light strikes it and the dwarf gains a bit of confidence in his swing.

The two underfeed beast salivate as they close in on the dwarf and halfling. Their razor sharp teeth make short work of clothing and armor as the each take a chunk out of their prey.
