    A bit shaken upon seeing the state of the farm, Alek is neither particularly stealthy (not surprising, as he's not all that agile and is in heavy armor) nor observant.

    Following the trail leads the group deep into the forest east of Winterhaven. Soon the group can hear the rush of running water, and then they spot a small falls that is the source of the sound.

    Quietly as most of them can they follow the trail and then Galim points at the falls, indicating it must be the kobold's destination. Knowing there must be guards they wait quietly in the brush until they spot first one then another, and another, and two more. Kobolds roam the woods around the waterfall as if on patrol.

    Ellowyl senses magic in the area and then sees the faint glow of a Sacred Circle near the stream. It would be for the best if the group could reach that circle before they are discovered.

    *CRACK*

    A branch breaks under Alek's heavy boot and any attempt at stealth is gone.

    OOC

    Map key:
    K- kobold skirmisher
    S- kobold slinger
    D- kobold dragonshield
    M- kobold minion

    Sacred Circle: anyone standing on the runes or in the center of the circle gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls

    Trees: do not hamper movement but do provide cover

    Rolling INIT for each group please add in your modifier to get your total, and post up your round one actions.

    Well that didn't go well for the home team. Next post will be Skirmishers turn then the group will be up then the 3 kobold lieutenants.

    Kobold Minions -

    With a yelp most of the kobolds spring into action. Those closest to the group throw javelins as those furthest away move up to form a battle line, as if to block the way to the waterfall. Only one sharpened stick strikes true and Marius clutches his shoulder as his elven blood starts to flow.

    "Ellowyl this way," the elven cleric says moving into the tree line and using it for cover. (move E-8)

    Reaching an area close to the sacred circle he let's out a holy blast with his holy symbol. The creature seems to shrug off the divine light, almost ignoring it as he readies to battle the two warriors before him. (miss)

    Ellowyl is up.

    Ellowyl nods and motions at the standing stones.

    "Capture the stones!" she barks, "Their magic will help us!"

    She steps closer to the stones, though not within reach of the doughty kobold at the center and glowers at them.

    "Ice and hoarfrost cake the dirt, arctic winds that grind and hurt. Snow and blizzard, storms of sleet, teeth of winter gnaw the feet."

    Magic gathers in her staff, then rockets into the ground as she slams it down. Sharp stakes of ice ram upwards at the feet of the kobolds, making a treacherous field of ice and spikes all around them!

    (Move to D10, Icy Terrain on G10. Knocks prone on hit, causes the Burst 1 area to become a zone of difficult terrain until the end of my next turn.)

    The kobolds struck by Ellowyl's spell all fall as one as the ground turns snowy and rocky. The minions meet their death but the dragonshield quickly gets back up to his blackened frostbitten feet.

    He takes a swing at Galim as the slinger moves to attack Marius. The elf notices he is also be stalked by the skirmisher as it moves into range to attack.

    An odd overly large stone, trailing a grey substance files towards the elven cleric. The ceramic pot breaks as it crashes on his shoulder spilling it's sticky contents about. Meanwhile Galim blocks the weak strike of the dragonshield, and readies two counterstrokes of his own.

    OOC: But first minions are up.
