Well, at least with the subtitle, you know what you are getting into.If "A" is broken, that isn't a valid reason for "B" to be so, even if they vary in degree.

There comes a time when one has to think, " Even I, with no talent or writing experience, could come up with something better than that. " This may be that time.
Good name in man and woman, dear my lord,
Is the immediate jewel of their souls.
Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing;
'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him
And makes me poor indeed.

I think Wizards was involved in this movie -- they mentioned it frequently in their promo material for Book of Vile Darkness, and I also recall seeing mention of a contest to have a character generated by one of their customers included in the movie. I had forgotten about all that until I saw this thread.

The movie franchise has gone down hill from such a promising start.
Stone Bear thinks, "Ain't no kind of rumbling behind you that issues forth from a kuo-toa city can be a good thing..."
Eve: “Why don’t you have any eyes?”
Stone Bear: “Hungry pets.”

There are people who really like the first two movies, so I can see why they are still producing that kind of crap.
EDIT: Ha! Called it! Evidence 2 posts underneath mine!

This just goes to show two things:
A.) A company can choose to take the rights to a property/name, slap it on an unrelated project, and call it a day...
B.) Games usually lead to horrible movies.
But can inspire some great musicals...

Though, to be honest... There is one property that would make an excellent survival/horror film...

I'm probably going against the consensus here, but I loved D&D 2. It was exactly the right level of cheap and camp for ironic enjoyment - I hope this one is the same - most Syfy movies are, let's face it!
