Buy back the rights. Take the loss. Then hire Joss Whedon and his capable people to build a new franchise around the name. Give him the budget needed to get it going. That is all.

I think I am going to stick with the hope that Dungeons & Dragons' luck with movies is just a phase, similar to the phase that saw many horrible movies based on comic books before, say, the advent of the Raimi/Maguire Spider-Man.

I mean, really. Take Game of Thrones, take out some of the vulgarity, add in more overt magic, bigger dungeons, and jump to the part where the dragons are huge, and you are there!

Yes, but Battleship has a 34% tomatometer and a 56% of fans liking it.

The original Dungeons and Dragons has a 10% tomatometer and 26% of fans liking it.

It's THAT bad.
