[AD&D 1e] Temple of Elemental Evil OOC

HolyMan

Thy wounds are healed!
I gets no Iron Man luvin' :(

Character A:
STR: 3d6 = 15
INT: 3d6 = 11
WIS: 3d6 = 9
DEX: 3d6 = 10
CON: 3d6 = 12
CHA: 3d6 = 9

Character B:
STR: 3d6 = 14
INT: 3d6 = 11
WIS: 3d6 = 12
DEX: 3d6 = 11
CON: 3d6 = 9
CHA: 3d6 = 12

Character C:
STR: 3d6 = 8
INT: 3d6 = 10
WIS: 3d6 = 9
DEX: 3d6 = 10
CON: 3d6 = 9
CHA: 3d6 = 10

But it is all about the Role play so I'm up for the challenge. HUZZAH!

I wish C had a 9 STR he would then barely qualify for every class. And that was what I was thinking. A half-elf fighter/mage/thief. But alas the dice gods are unjust.

A- human fighter
B- human cleric (I'll take that 5% chance of failure, should add a bit of flavor.)
C- half-elf magic-user/thief

And why do I think C will be the most fun to play?

HolyMan

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. He looks promising. I just hope hes doesn't die and I have to play the dim-witted thief :p

Str: 3d6 = 14
Int: 3d6 = 12
Wis: 3d6 = 7
Dex: 3d6 = 15
Con: 3d6 = 12
Cha: 3d6 = 8

Yes but what is he(she)?

Once you know I'll pick one of my three to complement them.

BTW this:

Str: 3d6 = 6
Int: 3d6 = 3
Wis: 3d6 = 9
Dex: 3d6 = 12
Con: 3d6 = 8
Cha: 3d6 = 17

Your character B would make an interesting human female druid. A young (14 or so) girl who has grown up in the wilderness all her life. She recently took ill and was rescued by unknown forest denizens and taken to Jaroo in Hommlet.

EDIT: scratch that you need a WIS of 12? Why does a cleric only need a 9? odd that

Just food for thought.

I was planning on using my second character, an Elf Magic-User, but I'm good with anything.

Character A - Half-elf Cleric/Magic-User
STR: 7
INT: 13
WIS: 11
DEX: 8
CON: 10
CHA: 12

Character B - Elf Magic-User
STR: 8
INT: 14
WIS: 12
DEX: 12
CON: 8
CHA: 8

Character C - Human Cleric
STR: 9
INT: 12
WIS: 12
DEX: 9
CON: 12
CHA: 8

Boingy! Boingy!

Here're my three sets of stats:

A: STR 15, DEX 8, CON 4, INT 13, WIS 11, CHA 11 | B: STR 10, DEX 10, CON 9, INT 13, WIS 10, CHA 8 | C: STR 9, DEX 11, CON 16, INT 12, WIS 9, CHA 15

Looks like C is my best set. Came close to qualifying for druid with it. I'm thinking gnome [-]illusionist/[/-]thief is the best way to go. The exceptional CON will help his lowish HD.

Gnome Thief

Gnome Thief HP: 1d6+2=5 | Gnome Thief Starting Gold: 2d6=6

That's 5 hit points and 60 gold pieces.

STR 9 (+0 hit, +0 damage, +0 weight, 1-2 OD, 1% BB/LG)
INT 12 (2 additional languages*)
WIS 9 (+0 magical adjustment)
DEX 11 (+0 react/attack, +0 def)
CON 16 (+2 hp, 95% ss, 96% rs)
CHA 15 (7 max. henchmen, +15% loyalty, +15% reaction)

* Limited to 2 additional languages because he's a gnome.

DEX Adjustments for Thieves -5% PP, -5% F/RT, -10% MS

Gnome +4 saving throws vs. magic wands, staves, rods, and spells. Languages known: common, dwarvish, gnome, halfling, goblin, kobold, burrowing mammal. Infravision 60 ft. Detect grade/slope 80%, detect unsafe 70%, detect approx. depth 60%, determine underground direction 50%. +1 to hit kobolds and goblins. -4 opponent to hit against gnolls, bugbears, ogres, trolls, ogre magi, giants, and/or titans.

Thief PP 25%, OL 30%, F/RT 25%, MS 10%, HS 15%, HN 20%, CW 70%. Backstab x2.

Good to see you joining in Mark. I hate to tell you this, but none of those qualify for illusionist. You need 15 Int and 16 Dex for that. Good old punitive game systems. The ironman rolling definitely produces a lot of base classes.

I had just realized that. Got confused. Something seemed wrong when I was typing earlier, but it just didn't click. I still like the idea of gnome, so I'm leaning toward gnome thief.

Sounds good. In any case, there's a chance we'll be rolling enough characters for you to get your illusionist at some point. This should be fun.

Alright let me put all these together and see what I can play.

Character A A Human Fighter
Str: 3d6 = 9
Int: 3d6 = 7
Wis: 3d6 = 9
Dex: 3d6 = 8
Con: 3d6 = 14
Cha: 3d6 = 8

Character B A Human Cleric
Str: 3d6 = 12
Int: 3d6 = 9
Wis: 3d6 = 14
Dex: 3d6 = 3
Con: 3d6 = 15
Cha: 3d6 = 11

Character C not sure
Str: 3d6 = 14
Int: 3d6 = 12
Wis: 3d6 = 7
Dex: 3d6 = 15
Con: 3d6 = 12
Cha: 3d6 = 8

Looks like character B is not viable. With a 3 Int, I can only play a fighter, but I don't have the strength to qualify.

Character A may be a fighter.

Ok, rerolled character B and true to form got another 3 :D So let me see what he can be. Dex may be less restricitve, but ouchie on the AC.

Hi! got room for another?

1: A sickly weak thief
Str: 3d6 = 6
Int: 3d6 = 10
Wis: 3d6 = 12
Dex: 3d6 = 13
Con: 3d6 = 7
Cha: 3d6 = 11

2: Good possibility here; dwarvin fighter/thief?
Str: 3d6 = 14
Int: 3d6 = 11
Wis: 3d6 = 10
Dex: 3d6 = 16
Con: 3d6 = 13
Cha: 3d6 = 10

3: A despondent priest
Str: 3d6 = 8
Int: 3d6 = 6
Wis: 3d6 = 14
Dex: 3d6 = 11
Con: 3d6 = 9
Cha: 3d6 = 8
