R.I.P. Glenn Quinn

It's been announced that Glenn Quinn, the actor who's probably best known for playing Doyle on "Angel", passed away on Tuesday. The sad news was confirmed by series producer Tim Minear earlier today.

Damn. I'd always liked the character, and had harbored hopes that he'd make another appearance on the series. But that's hardly a priority now.

I've been wondering about what him since he left the Angel series in the middle of the first season. He was also credited for a recurring role in Roseanne as husband of the eldest daughter, and was a regular in the short-lived medieval-based Covington Cross series.

Damn. I'm going to miss him. Oh well there go my hopes of a Doyle return.

All I could fine was fans sites reporting his death, but nothing from an official news agency.

Thr source was the alt.tv.angel newsgroup. No one has mentioned a cause of death which is (of course) their perogative. More details on Mr. Quinn's life are at:

I saw his name on the little scrolling marqee on E! TV, and I thought maybe it was going to say he was returning to Angel. I've been waiting for him to come back, even if just for an episode. Guess it isn't going to happen now. I don't know if I'll be able to watch "Hero" again anytime soon. Rest in peace.

With people in mourning, it probably isn't the time to metion it, but it was brought up. This is from his fan based site http://www.glenn-quinn.com:

"The Dublin-born Quinn was found dead from a possible drug overdose at a friend's home, Los Angeles police said Friday. Detectives said the case will remain open pending the completion of toxicology tests, but no foul play was suspected."

Some how I figured it had to be drugs. Mainly because a star getting shot (even a minor one) makes the news in Hollywood. A drug overdose, generally get downplayed. (Plus I'm willing to bet Joss wasn't to thrilled and had his people hand the spin control on that one.)
