Leif's "Revenge of the Giants" [4E] [IC 01]

Heise peers around the room, checking if there are any more inscriptions or clues that might help Sariel out, or perhaps a literal keyhole as the vizier suggests.

OOC: No such luck, rolled pretty well, though. Adding my own Arcana and History checks in, just in case there's anything in the legends or circle that might point to what exactly we might be looking for.

Heise studies the inlaid pattern with his arcane-trained eye, and Sariel and Durn with their keen Eladrin and Dwarvish eyes. Durn and Sariel focus on the paterns in the inlay itself and can detect a portion of a pattern, but can make no sense of what they see. Heise looks not only at the inlay pattern, but also at the varying textures and colors of the design and sees what he perceives to be an arrow pointing to a point on the western wall of the chamber.

Heisse stands in the circle, aligning his gaze with the direction of the arrow. Then he walks slowly and deliberately forward until he is face to face with the wall. He begins running his hands over the wall.

"I think there's something here . . . "

OOC: Perception check vis a vis the wall, please, for Heise. And if anyone wants to aid another or anything (*hint, hint*) then those checks need to be made first, of course.

First Post
Sariel wonders if there might be clues to where the secret door is between the style of the runes, and the architecture of the building...
OOC: trying to aid with a history check. Also wondering if it's too late to add Detect Secret Doors to Sariel's ritual book; without Knowledge Checks' Althous, we don't have a high-wisdome/good perception guy anymore, which I didn't quite realize

OOC: Durn grants Heise a +2 bonus on the perception check. Unfortunately, you don't yet know just what it is that you're looking for, so Sariel's focus on a secret door may or may not be correct. Nevertheless, her attention to the structure of the wall still grants Heise another +2. [There is some doubt as to whether a history check is applicable here, but I'll let that slide this time. You shouldn't get used to that, however. ;) ] [Engineering would have been a good skill to use here, but you succeeded without it, so no matter.]

OOC: So that's +4 to Heise's Perception check (total=+15!) for the wall where the arrow concealed in the mosaic pattern of the circle on the floor was pointing.

Heise listens with half an ear as his companions pontificate on architectural history and dwarven stonework, even as he focuses the majority of his attention on the wall itself. But something Sariel says catches his attention and he totally loses concentration as he turns to listen to the story.

OOC: Ooh, a one. Fun! :)

OOC: Sorry, guys, tough break with cruel dice. Seems as if you'd beter knock of for today and try making a fresh start tomorrow.
