Ilse watches in awe as Boris crashes through the barricade. She finds herself actually clapping to celebrate his success. "Alright! You did it!"

However, her expression soon turns to concern when she notices the undead nearby. The tiefling stops applauding and reaches for her weapon.

"Boris...?" Kurnos calls into the darkness as the dust cloud billows out of the new hole in the barricade. Then he sees movement and a skeleton in the rear suddenly is aflame showing several other undead. "Boris!!" the minotaur yells in concern as he prepares to leap over the toppeled mine cart.

OOC: Waiting for enemies to go first. :(

Zaroch does a double take, sighs and pushes his glasses back up. "Well, at least it's better than the troll." He mutters dryly. "I don't like the look of that burning one though..."

Boris grins in the dark, teeth smeared with blood from his gashed lips. "Knock knock..."
Though his armour is heavy and weighs him down to the ground, amazingly he is able to kick away from the floor and skeleton and skim through the skeleton's legs with the screech of metal on stone.

No Action triggered by rolling Initiative: Crimson Blade (Iaijutsu): TCO shifts 2 squares; he gains +2 bonus to first atk vs enemies he ends adjacent to (Skeleton miner). Shift 2 to Q4 (fluffed as going between legs) [/sblock]

Boris shifts from the frying pan to the fire! Two of the undead miners approach and attack him with their picks. Both connect solidly with the warrior! The blazing skeleton appears to be in agony, as it screeches towards Boris, apparently desperate. As it does so, however, a torrent of flame threats to envelope the Cursed One. But the wild fire catches on the ore surrounding the skeleton, setting it ablaze! The creature seems to be afraid of the fire, probably re-living the accident that took his life.
From the far corner of the room, that remains in darkness, a well sized piece of ore comes flying and hits Boris square in the head. The man reels backwards from the impact.
The meaner looking skeleton miner also hacks at Boris with it's pick. The blow is strong; Boris feels the punctuating wound underneath his armor.

[sblock=Mining problems]

Kurnos is UP!

Blazing Ore: Each time the Blazing Skeleton misses, his attack will set on fire Ore piles. If a creature starts its turn or enters, a square adjacent to the ore, it takes 5 fire dmg. If it is ON the ore pile, it takes 10 fire dmg, and 5 ongoing fire dmg until it moves out of the Blazing Ore squares.

Pay attention to the map's light, coded with the color of the lines. Orange lines are for lighted areas, while black lines are for dark areas. You can't see Boris, nor the skeleton rock thrower, for example, unless you can see in the dark. Pay attention to the difficult terrain as well, rails, rubble and ore are difficult terrain, costing 2 squares of movement. The cart is blocking terrain.

MAP and COMBAT Mining problems!! sheet contains the map and references are found scrolling down a bit.

Monsters' actions
Decrepit skeletons: Both hit Boris, for 8 dmg, reduced to 6
Blazing skeleton: misses boris
Rock thrower: Hits for 6, reduced to 5, pushes 1
Skeleton miner: Hits for 9, reduced to 8, Boris is marked.

OOC: @jbear you unfortunately can't shift when you're prone.

[sblock=IGNORE THIS POST]Logan leaps the wreckage of the barricade, rushing to Boris' aid. His throw is rushed, but at first it doesn't seem to matter. The dagger dissolves into a stream of water mid-throw, which stops and condenses, for just a split second, into a liquid orb hovering near Boris and the three skeletons harrying him. When that split second passes, however, the orb bursts explosively, sending a watery shockwave toward the skeletons. One of them is close enough to the blast, and is blown to bits. The others aren't struck by the expanding walls of water, which collapse into harmless puddles.

Kurnos tries to leap over the minecart and stumbles to the side instead. He decides to make his way around the right side until he is beside the minecart and at the edge of the rubble. From there he has a straight run at one of the skeletons assaulting Boris. For a moment, his vision goes red and he considers lowering his head and charging in to gore the skeleton. He shakes his head in refusal, clearing his vision of the red and taking the moment he needs to center himself with a breath. He makes up for lost time as he sprints forward in a flash, opening the gate of battle in his body, mind, and spirit. He positions himself opposite Boris to get best effect from his attack. Using his reserves of strength, he lashes out at the toughest looking skeleton straight ahead, slamming the undead with a mighty blow.

OOC: Sorry I messed up your orange lines in Q6 and R6. I was trying to copy/paste from there to color something else in right and couldn't fix them for some reason. They should be orange outlined signifying a lit area.
