Miniatures for a Star Trek game?

I'm looking for some appropriate miniatures I can use for a Star Trek game. They don't have to be specifically Star Trek miniatures, but need to look reasonably appropriate - so no stormtroopers or orc space marines!

Any ideas? I've looked on eBay under various "star trek miniatures" combinations and found a small Heroclix set with the TOS crew, but that's pretty much it. Ideally I don't want to pay a fortune for 20-year old collectable lead figures. I've seen various references to and photos of old minis sets for various Star Trek games, and people saying "X company used to produce some 30 years ago!", but they (a) are usually a *very* small range and (b) are expensive or hard to get hold of or (c) were 30 years ago.

10 XP to anyone who can help me!

Here you go, Morrus!

Wow. 3-yr thread necro!

Whoops. I was browsing late at night and did not even notice how old the thread was. ;P

I'm going to display the Citadel TMP figures with my 1:350 Scale Enterprise but that's a work in progress. I bought about 50 of them to do different paint jobs for extra crew. You can still find them on Ebay but they are quite stylised with big heads and small bodies. Don't look that bad painted though.

Nightwing's cartoon portraits on Deviant Art have a good mix of characters. I even did some simple cut and paste jobs to make extra variations.

I'll leave this thread to die again now. Laterzzz

Hah! This is always an option!

Lego and decals might be the best and cheapest option:
