Sedition Wars - tracking damage and status

Any Sedition Wars players that have advice for tracking damage and status in this game? It's been fun playing so far, but since most of your generic troopers can't be readily matched to a specific card, tracking damage on the card has been ineffective at times. The number of status effects that you need to keep track of on a regular basis can be staggering too. In addition to the status effects that have explicit markers, you may need to keep track of models that have already used their reaction for the round, models that invested in some enhanced reaction ability, or even just models that have already activated if the sides are getting large. Most of our games have turned into models almost buried in little chits of cardboard, with their damage-marked cards out on the board to keep them near the model they relate to. Anyway, curious if other gamers have some creative solutions...
