Swords & Wizardry Appreciation Day

Yesterday was Swords & Wizardry Appreciation Day, a not-quite-last minute assembly of blogs around the internet posting anything at all related to the S&W game. Personally, I thought ten or fifteen blogs would participate. Maybe thirty.

Wrong.

The last number I heard was one hundred and forty.

That's a lot of blogs. There are new rules, classes, races, spells, advice, settings, campaigns, adventures, reviews, stories, and more. Somewhere in the melange I saw rules for carousing go by, which I definitely have to go back and find.

The heart of this swirling storm of chaos, and the place to go for links to the various blogs, is Tenkar's Tavern: http://www.tenkarstavern.com/
Also check out Mythmere's Blog, by Matt Finch - the guy that wrote Swords & Wizardry: http://swordsandwizardry.blogspot.com/
2,000 Coppers is "The Home of the S&W Appreciation Day Blogroll", which I take to mean that if you find this thread in November, you can go there and find links to the participating blogs in the sidebar, without having to dig through 7. months of other stuff: http://www.2000coppers.com/

S&W is a stripped down, streamlined ruleset based on the original D&D rules, which have fed every iteration of D&D so far. There's material here for just about every game in existence, from Basic to Pathfinder, and 5e looks to be very compatible. You can get a free download of the Swords & Wizardry Core Rules here: http://www.swordsandwizardry.com/ebookfinal9.pdf

Swords & Wizardry has an SRD site here: http://www.d20swsrd.com/ (and a linked store at http://shop.d20pfsrd.com/collections/swords-wizardry).
Frog God Games, the successor to Necromancer Games, also has an extensive S&W store. Many of the products are available in both PF and S&W formats. http://www.talesofthefroggod.com/products.html

(my own contribution was a little 34-page thing called The Basic Illusionist, which can be found here: http://secretsoftheshadowend.blogspot.com/2013/04/test-test.html)

Enjoy!

Yesterday's Blogfest was amazing - and humbling - I am a man amongst giants, and it was a privilege to help coordinate everything.

Oh course, I had nothing to post of my own, as I was too busy trying to keep up with the other 139 blogs ;)

I don't know if I ever will get through it all. Thank you so much.

BTW my second character was a thief named John (Don't tell me what to do!) John, he's in Rappan Athuk, and he went down the well!
