GM: That is correct, once per turn, not per round. Still a lot less abusable that it was

This past week was a bit of a crap storm at work, I'm going to try to finish up this combat soon and get to the end of the introduction. As a word of warning, I'll probably be away for the holiday weekend and then will be gone for a week at the end of July for a friend's wedding.

The surest sign my life will get busy is that I attempt to start to GM a game. I'm going to stick with it, but it might be slow going the first month.

OOC: Totally understandable. I was trying to start an adventure and now as Croatia enters European Union we had flurry of conforming rules and new set of programs to create to keep inline with new regulations (which our superiors of course couldn't check/announce on time) - between overtime and working weekends its as well that the games are slow. Now I'm on vacation and the last ten days of it will be slow(er) as I will be in low-internet area.

The half-troll's rubbery skin ignites. Mortally wounded and set ablaze, the troll lashes out at Illarion, wounding the sorcerer, with a desperate last claw before his body is burned to ash.

The grenadiers lob another set of bombs into the cluster in the center, but they are less than completely effective, scorching Eva's skeleton and Joy slightly. The two brutes swing their glaives as they unleash garbled screams, but neither attack connects.

He frowns, looking down at the troll that hit him, but there was nothing to be done about it.

He steps back and promptly stumbles over extended arm of the troll, his blindness preventing such minor detail to be noticed. The rainbow colored bolt flies into the brute and bursts into harmless sparkles.

Annoyed by constant barage, the monk races behind the orc with the pots and, jumping with his arms spread lands just behind and brings the hands together. The power of the jump and connecting arms pushes the thrower right between Merri and Joy for final judgement.

Eva speaks an arcane word of power and then focuses her gaze on the orc brute engaged with her animated skeleton. Nothing obvious happens to the orc, her spell apparently having no effect. Eva's demonic and undead minions maneuver for better positions but can't find the opportunity to attack.

Merri scowls when the orc runs away and throws more fire at her friends.

When Drew skips over and pounds the orc until it stumbles back over to her, she cheers at Drew, "Way to go!"

With poor defenseless flowers in mind, Merri rips at the orc's aura with a vengeance. Although she doesn't physically touch him, the orc screams out and falls down.

Papolstaanas bashes the orc in the knee with his shield, causing his much larger opponent to stagger, before darting past the strange demonic creature that Eva has summoned and stabbing it with his sword. The leaf falls off the glaive-orc’s head, but another flies up and adheres to the shoulder of the remaining bomb-thrower. The wind continues to rise around the battle, pushing the orcs this way and that.

Papolstaanas will use Guardian’s Counter to protect any vulnerable person in the group unless it’s likely to drop him.

Lightning Rush (interrupt):Triggers when an enemy within 5 of Papolstaanas targets an ally with an attack. Papolstaanas moves his speed to be adjacent to the enemy and attacks (+13 vs. AC, 2d8+6 damage; +1 to damage if he has CA). If it hits, the triggering attack is resolved against him rather than the intended target. (This is the augmented 2 version, which Papolstaanas will always use. If he doesn’t have power points, he won’t bother with this power.)

Papolstaanas will always use this on ranged attackers if he can get there without provoking (since it’s an interrupt, the ranged attack will provoke an OA from him as well).

Melee Basic Attacks: Papolstaanas uses Overwhelming Strike for OAs and granted melee basic attacks. Arranging the slides and shifts will be tricky, so I’ll try to post some guidelines on my turns.

Wrathful Warrior (no action): Papolstaanas gains 4 temp HPs the first time he is hit by a melee or close attack.

Blurred Step (free, 1/turn): Triggers when an enemy marked by Papolstaanas and adjacent to him shifts. Papolstaanas shifts 1.

Papolstaanas will follow his mark around if he can. If the mark is also his oath target, he will try to keep the oath active (i.e., maneuver so as not to be adjacent to other enemies).[/sblock]
