ZEITGEIST Motivation of a Villain (Major spoilers for Zeitgeist: Schism)

Hi,

Having read through Module Seven, and rather enjoyed it, I have a question regarding Nicodemus. Maybe I missed some text or a sidebar somewhere, but what precisely is Nicodemus' motivation in having the Colossal Congress members purged at the climax? Why does he dislike their philosophy over the others; I was actually expecting that it would be the Watchmakers who would get the ax as I initially read through it.

The Colossus want power for themselves, and Nicodemus wants to be an idealist, so he reflexively finds that faction deplorable. The Watchmakers he actually thinks might be the most successful option, but it's risky because they have no control once it's implemented, and he wants to believe people just need a nudge, not mind control.
