It's really quite simple: Nessie has vowed to remain neutral in the Independence debate (because her livelihood depends greatly on tourism, primarily from England), and so has been making herself unavailable for comment.

Oh, and incidentally, the source loses credibility for describing Loch Ness as a 'lake'. Honestly!
