Waking up to the smell of bacon? Meh, might be nice midmorning, but first thing in the morning? (The worst smell I ever woke up to was when I'd just graduated and was still living in a student dorm. I needed to be out of bed by 6am to get to work. A Russion flatmate had some Russian friends round, and after a night of drinking vodka they were frying up some chicken livers with garlic and lots of oil. In the kitchen right outside my room.)

When I went to the restaurant last sunday, I order a smoked bacon carpaccio. The whole damn plate was covered with bacon slices. It was very good, but that was way too much bacon.

Bacon makes people happy! My typical breakfast is bacon cheese and egg on an English muffin.
