It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

Hopefully Max Von Sydow will get to play something better than a CGI frog.
And hopefully we will be able to see something other than Lens Flares.

Here's what I'm hoping for (even moreso that the new movies actually be good)
I'm hoping that Disney/LucasFilm releases the original cuts of the OT on BluRay.

Just to promote the upcoming new film.

PLEASE DEAR GOD. PLEASE. It's been long enough. I have the films on LD. But just to
have them in anamorphic widescreen...

I foresee the major initial (and valid) criticism - out of seven new characters they feel worth talking about in their casting release, apparently only one of them is female.

Exactly. You're a giant franchise beloved the world over. How hard is it to write in some characters who are women?

I can forgive them if and only if the female character is either the main character and unambiguous hero or is the co-hero and kicks as much ass as her counterpart.

I looked at a picture of her and, I could me mistaken but, I think she has something of a resemblance to the younger Carrie Fisher. If she is a Skywalker/Solo then the chances of her being a badass are significantly improved I think.

Apparently it is extremely, extremely difficult.

Why not have a heroine this time?

Not everyone has this problem...
