Thorn accepts the campsite readily enough; the troops need to stop anyway, and the sun is already starting to get low. She goes out to scout the perimeter as the tents are unloaded, getting back just in time to claim one on the west edge of the campsite. She sets her gear in it, but stays out at the fire for much of the night; a quiet, watchful presence overseeing the soldiers and officers, alert for trouble.

[sblock=actions]The yellowish tent at D26, and Thorn spends her waking time out at the fire there at E26, alert for trouble. In this case she's not watching the perimeter as much as she's keeping an eye on the soldiers themselves. She's concerned about Templars infiltrating the army to cause trouble. If there are any though, they'd have to have some way of protecting themselves from detection by an army paladins, so she's watching for anyone who seems like they might be casting a spell, or taking a potion, or concentrating on a spell like ability...that sort of thing.[/sblock]

After Meliara fixes up her tent to her liking, she pitches in around the camp, helping fix the food for everyone. Once that task is complete she sits by the fire with her dragon friend by her side, feeding it, petting it gently and speaking softly in its ear. It is a quiet, peaceful moment and most likely looks strange to a group of trained fighters in the middle of a camp that is off to battle. She look more like young, pretty girl playing with her tiny dragon toy than a warrior fighting demons and cultists.

Banaq, Elf Sorcerer L6, Archmage T1

Banaq will sit on a log outside his tent and get pleasantly buzzed sipping wine. Then, as wine tends to be a 'sneaky drunk,' he will notice that he is, in fact, quite schnockered. He will remain stoic about this, and ultimately decide to just go with it and keep on drinking.

Soon enough the camp is settled and the officers come to report. First, Soseil Vaenic, the cleric of Shelyn reports. He opens with a blessing. Then proceeds to tell you that the troops are well and that moral is reasonably good considering recent events and your journey into hostile territory. Supplies are being used at the expected rate. He is tall experienced human crusader.

Next, Soseil motions to Aron Kir to speak. The young human is pale and old before his time. He has clearly seen much in his short life. "It seems that a significant force overtook this small village. It appears most of the people have fled. No survivors have been found. We made good time today and two more days should see us to Vilareth Ford."

Next Aravashnial, Elven Riftwarden of Kenabres and your companion of the fall rises to speak. It still seems strange for him to be sighted once again. "This attack was clearly the work of demons of some sort not ordinary soldiers. I will spend some more time examining the marks tonight and try and determine anything of use. I do not require as must sleep as others."

Nurah Dendiwhar the Halfling Bard and historian is last to speak. "This village was an important source of food to the city. Its loss will be hard on the recovery. Perhaps if we spend a day here we could locate some of the survivors and find out what happened. There may well be some food we could recover as well. I don't think we can do these things at night. We would have to delay a day."

Banaq notices his state of inebriation whenhe tries to stand to go and relieve his bladder. Staggering to his feet, he sways over to the treeline where he successfully completes his business. He then begins to return to his seat, and sees Officer Soseil Vaenic. He remains standing while Officer Vaenic gives his report to Banaq's companions, and then adds this, 'Thang you verra mush, Oshifer Panic, (*hic*) Perhapsh morale might be even better if we ishoo an extra ration of this remarkable wine to the men. Whatchoo thing, Oshifer?"

Soseil's and Aravashnial's reports cause the human Sorcerer to concentrate harder, and his buzz is instantly killed deader than he77. "Ok, men, looks like we earn our pay tomorrow. Is there nothing that we can do now, from this position, that will assist? Are there wounded to whom we can attend? Or perhaps some more weighty matter to which we can devote our resources this night?"

Vakeva listens intently to the officers' reports, but keeps his silence until all are finished. He notes Banaq's inebriation with a frown. I'll need to keep an eye on that. A man's pass-times are his own business, but there's a time and a place. It'll eventually be up to us to hold this force together, and the men won't follow a drunkard.

He looks thoughtful as Dendiwhar puts forth the idea of spending an extra day to investigate and maybe start putting the town back right. He looks at the others. "Do we have time for this? It seems like a good use of our resources if we can spare the day."
