well, it might be interesting.
Unless they try to turn it into a mindless sex soap-opera.
We'd have an actual fantasy series based on having a real supernatural monster threat...
Been a long time since that happened.
Shanara had a lot fewer pointless side tracks than LotR, and generally focussed on important characters and what they were up to.
I remember reading the original trilogy (book 3 came out when I was in jr high).
Brooks had some interesting things to say.
People accuse him of having ripped off Tolkien, but while there are a lot of similarities, I enjoyed Brooks a lot more. Less rambling, more action and focus. I also found his characters more relatible.
