A man in Virginia has claimed the unoccupied desert lands of "Bir Tawil" (between Egypt and Sudan) as his kingdom. Alright, he's not trampling on the rights of other countries (because the land is unclaimed), nor on the rights of any indigenous population (because the land is unoccupied); but will his 7-year-old daughter be happy being the "princess" of a kingdom that has a population of 2 -- the King and the Princess?

One would presume that the land is unoccupied and unclaimed for very valid reasons, such as the inability of crops to grow there. . . .
