Looking for new Card Games!

First Post
Hi, I'm an avid collector of card games I can play while on trips or around the house with a small group of friends. Aside from the traditional deck of playing cards, I'm looking for some new games and want to find ones that are small/light enough to travel with, contain no "I WIN!" cards without a counter card, and are either cooperative or competitive. My current collection consists of the following games:

Fluxx (contains an I WIN card, which infuriates me.)
Monopoly Deal
Sentinels of the Multiverse (I own several expansions and will continue buying from this company)
Munchkin Apocalypse (not such a huge fan, but its easy fun)

Looking for fair games, loud games, fun games, quiet games...card games not sold in "booster pack , and travel games.

Any suggestions?

Nytmare's Top Ten Easily Travelable Card Game Picks
(or at least the ten card games that I usually drag with me on trips, listed in roughly "favorite-first" order)

The Resistance - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/41114/resistance - A "game masterless" version of the Mafia/Werewolf social deduction party game.
Star Realms - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/147020/star-realms - My favorite deck builder. If you're familiar with the games, it's Dominion shuffled with Magic the Gathering styled combat.
San Juan - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/8217/san-juan - A slimmed down card game version of the Puerto Rico board game. It's a resource gathering/city building/role choosing game
Dixit - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/39856/dixit - A party game, especially if you've got a game night that includes a good mix of non-gamers. I have heard Dixit best described as "like Apples to Apples, but with pictures, but not Apples to Apples."
Innovation - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/63888/innovation - An abstract, civilization building card game
Citadels - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/478/citadels - City building and secret roles.
Guillotine - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/116/guillotine - A trick and point gathering card game with a coat of "competing executioners" paint over top of it.
Bohnanza - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/11/bohnanza - A trading and hand management game. Also you farm beans.
Give Me the Brain - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/176/give-me-brain - An old Cheap Ass favorite. You play the part of a bunch of zombies stuck working in a fast food restaurant in hell.
Lunch Money - http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/228/lunch-money - A cut throat game of children beating the crap out of each other on a school playground.

Guildhall if fun and easy.
Fleet is an amazingly deep game for $25.
Carnival is a great quick game.
Thunderstone is amazing.
Trains always makes me happy.

I've got reviews of these up on ENworld, so check those out. They're worth your time!

Gloom. It's a favourite of mine, and the second edition just released.

Do the cards last any longer with the second edition? I bought it when it first came out, and the cards started wiping themselves clean in about a month.

I wouldn't know, I have first edition sets. Still, I haven't had that problem with my cards, and my set is almost a year old.

Huh, I don't know precisely when I bought mine, but it had to have been close to 10 years ago. I ended up pitching them because you couldn't read the cards anymore.

Of all the collectible card games I've played...
The ones that still interest me and receive play on a regular basis are:

  • Jyhad/Vampire the Eternal Struggle
  • Shadowfist
  • Middle Earth CCG [From I.C.E.]
  • Babylon 5 [Perhaps the best-balanced multipplayer card I've played, though it's a fiar investment in learning the rules.]
  • Doomtown

For non-collectibles, there's been some excellent suggestions already, so I"ll second the noms of:
  • San Juan (Card-version of "Puerto Rico")
  • BANG!
  • Bohnanza
  • Dixit
  • Citadels
