Recruiting for this game has now closed. Thanks for looking.
In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business."

You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.

By popular request, I present Lost Mine of Phandelver, a brief introductory adventure presented in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Starter Set. I'll be accepting a maximum of 8 players for this game. If you haven't played D&D 5th Edition before, this is the perfect chance to learn.

You have a few options for creating a character.

1. You can select a pregenerated character from the Starter Set, which can be found in PDF form here. (Scroll down to Starter Set Character Sheets.)

2. You can create a character using the free Basic Rules PDF. (Scroll down to Player's D&D Basic Rules V2.)

3. You can create a character using the Player's Handbook if you have one available to you.

For options 2 and 3, please use the point buy method of generating ability scores and select equipment from the lists provided by your class and background.

Also for options 2 and 3, take a look at the Starter Set pregenerated characters and try to find ways to connect your background, personality traits, ideals, flaws, and bonds to the setting and adventure in a manner similar to those of the pregen characters.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

As I said in the other thread, I'm interested. :)

I'll put together a character sometime tomorrow. I'm thinking of a wood elf, either a rogue or druid. Depends on what others would like to play.

Full disclosure: I'm in another PbP going through the Lost Mine of Phandelver on another board. It's just started, so I don't know anything about the adventure past the first encounter, but if Kiraya or other players would rather I step back because of this I'll do so, no hard feelings. :)

As with other intro adventure throughout the editions (Keep on the Borderlands, Village of Hommlet, The Sunless Citadel, Keep on the Shadowfell), I have already run this adventure several times and fully expect some folks to have already played it. I have no issues with that as long as you keep player knowledge separate from character knowledge. ;)

I'm in one of your other games and I like your style as a GM. If you don't mind and have room I'd love to join this one as well.

I have run the first part of LMoP for a small group to get my feet wet with the 5e rules, but I've intentionally avoided reading ahead and it would be nice to actually play it instead. Frankly it's hard to find a module I haven't either played or run anymore, so I've gotten good at dissociating player knowledge from character knowledge. If you're okay with it, I am too.

I have a High Elf Noble fighter (duelist) named Laucien Amaravan III that I created more or less randomly back in July and then grew attached to. (He's the 5th child of a noble elven line and a bit of a prig, but he has a good heart and he grows on you.) I'll need to tidy him up (make sure I used point buy, check his equipment, etc.) and adjust his background to give him a link to the adventure, but I've put him up on Myth-Weavers if you want to take a look. I'll spend some time cleaning him up this weekend.

Welcome aboard and glad to have you. :D

Its so rare we DMs get a chance to actually play. ;) (I'm playing in an old 3.5 game on here but I'm hoping to one day play in a 5E PbP eventually).

what format do you want the character sheet in?

Will be a Mountain Dwarf Barbarian (outlander). Will be a distant relative of Grunden and Co.

I prefer a sblocked post. I'm not keen on attachments, links, or embedded tables/code/whatevers. Beyond that, organize it however you need so its most useful to you.
