Monks and TWF

Out of curiosity, what, if anything, would a Monk gain from the TWF tree? A potential of 9 attacks, 10 if you make yet another additional attack feat? Or does it end with Lightning Fists?

Thanks!

Monks get nothing from the TWF feat chain. The description of Monk's unarmed fighting abilities includes "there's no such thing as an off-hand attack for a Monk fighting unarmed."

You can get a maximum of two extra attacks, using Flurry of Blows and Lightning Fists.

The only time a monk would gain from the TWF is if he's using weapons that are not considered "special" for the purpose of using the UAB.

So it ends at Lightning Fist and possibly Expert Tactician. But look on the bright side, the monk's bare fist will be doing more damage than a greatsword.

The Monk's belt discription assumes that the person donning the belt is not a Monk. It then goes on to clarrify what happens should a Monk put the belt on.

That's more or less what I figured. It just seems wrong that a TWF could potentially have more attacks per round than a Monk. Even if they are doing a D20 per hit. The 5 attacks per round unarmed was kinda what made the Monk stand out before all the "Splat" books came out.

And then with the flurry of blows ability you get a 6th attack(at -2. and does not stack with lightning fist)
And if you have lightning fist you get 2 extra attacks at a -5 penalty
