ooc: getting to it. sorry. anger and aggression against my internet connection.

Franko:
Franko jumps up on the alter and starts lampooning the horsemen in a mime. He does not exactly want to make too much noise on the chance his voice is heard by the devil dog. He struts about in a high stepping goose step in mock seriousness, though he does not step too far, just not too many step as the alter is not that big of a stage.

Hank:
Having recently acquired a really cool short sword of Elvin design, he wants to try his bravery. He stands at the ready facing out from the alter. In hos left hand he holds his old trusty shortsword.

Homer:
Homer, a simple scribe - not really the sight of the brave hero, remains in the safe location, on the deck of the boat. He does, however run through the spells he knows to deturmine which to try against and unknown aggressor.

Siva looks around. "I'm going scouting."

"Not alone."

So Narancasta and Siva head off into the light mist to scout. The others take position on or near the altar with the exception of Hank, who deems it safest to cast his spells from the protection of the elevated deck of the dragon boat.

The sky already grey shifts subtley to black. The moisture in the air grows thicker leaving a sheen of damp on armor and weapons. Eventually you can hear something moving around just beyond sight. Then you spot it: named a hound the creature is really nothing of the sort and the only resemblance to a hound is that it is a quadruped. It has an apeish body with long, powerful forelimbs that end in green-scaled claws. Its back is covered in a scattered molt of feathers but its head is the most grotesque: a shortened muzzle is filled with a multitude of long, sharp teeth, eyes are buried in black pits of wrinkled flesh that almost looks human.

The beast makes a coughing sound, drawing your attention, then it darts in teeth snapping!

GM: The beast has AC 15. You all have initiative. It took some time arriving so if there were other preparations you had planned to take you may.

Kurl cackles and says, "Behold my master's power beast! Prepared to be broken and cast down!" His eyes go wide and insane as he mutters an unholy incantation under his breath and leans over to touch the shoulder of Tender.

Boral announces, "No need to engage directly! If you can hold him off for a bit, I can start blasting him from afar." He also leans forward and touches Tender, casting a spell to enlarge the dwarf against his bigger opponent. As the spell goes off, the vegetation surrounding the altar shrivels and dies.

Tender answers, "How do you know it is a he? You know what... nevermind..." The dwarf takes the boosts from the spells and moves forward to attack, ignoring a part of Boral's advice.

Franko
1d20+4=6, 1d4=1
Franko speaks the words and he grows larger, then suddenly it all falls of of him in loose folds of skin to leave him as his original self
"ah razzscnautz. it was worth a try. "

Hank-o
The scribe casts his spell from the wooden deck of the misplaced ship
1d20+3=9, 1d6=4 d20 is 8 after adjustment for luck

Hanks flufs up her hair after the change. She sees where the ground errupted but no wolf. Her shoulders slump and a feminine voice harrumphs. "Now what."
