This book has it all! Not only does it have game stats for many, if not most, iconic RPG foes, it has a wide assortment of help available to GMs for best utilizing those foes. For example: * Guidelines for making your own monsters, * Rules for advancing monsters in power, * Feats for monsters, * Useful lists of groupings for monsters, such as by Type, CR, and Terrain. Paizo took and old idea and made it new again! This is the new gold standard for monster books, to which few others will measure-up.

Essential resource for Pathfinder; it's a polished and more artistic version of 3.5's Monster Manual.
I actually LOVE this book, especially for the gorgeous pictures, so if I had to choose what to collect, between 3.5's MM and Pathfinder's Bestiary, I would buy a physical copy of the Bestiary. Production values are 5/5, no doubt.
...But, from the point of view of the evolution of the game, there's almost no change from its predecessor. This is the reason for the 4 stars.
