Silver Moon Adventurers - Playing Characters (in alphabetical order):

Ailsheir, male 2nd level drow elf archer.
Chaotic Neutral with Good tendencies. Originally worked for Lolth. Encountered and joined the Silver Moon Adventurers the previous year after his evil was removed by the demigod Finder Wyvernspur. Unlike most drow, he has dark hair and is not adversely affected by sunlight. His origin detailed in Chapters 80 & 89 of the "Chinese Take-out" Story Hour. While he is no longer evil, he still makes an occasional offhand remark that alludes to his drow upbringing, and what was considered to be appropriate behavior in that setting.

Blake, male 7th level halfling rogue.
Neutral Good. While he is a very competent and rather sneaky little guy, he is totally loyal and would never consider taking something from a party member. Blake often finds himself the brunt of insults and practical jokes from his fellow party members. He has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 13 years. Blake is currently apprenticing the NPC Lee-May, and is finding the young hengeyokai to be an annoying pest.

Blip, female gnome 5th/6th level sorcerer/rogue.
Chaotic Good. Very bright and innovative, her abilities are often underestimated by both friends and foes. Blip evenly balances actions between her two classes, using her rogue skills to get her where she needs to be to best carry out her sorcerer skills. Her favorite spell tactic is to follow up spells cast by wizard party members with her own illusionary versions, as the foes are unlikely to suspect the spell’s illusionary nature having been just hit with an identical real one. Her favorite magic item is a Broom of Flying that can reduce itself in size to a hand-broom. She has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 7 years. Her body has been altered to assume an aquatic form when triggered by a Dispel Magic spell, her form being a selkie.

Cassie-Andra, female 9th/8th level half-elf wizard/cleric.
Lawful Good. She is a fanatic about reading, learning and spell casting. She has wonderful surgery skills, dissecting most monsters that the party kills to harvest components for spells and magic items. She has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 11 years, and is their most powerful spell caster. She is both a powerful wizard and also a cleric of the God of Knowledge and Time. She is the girlfriend of the elvan archer Aradyn. Has an owl familiar named Deanna, and a pet wyvern named Maynard. Her key magic item is the Crown of Might, the powers of which include throwing massive fireballs twice daily.

Dennismore, male 6th level elf rogue.
Chaotic Neutral. Dennismore is a very skilled rogue, who frequently jokes about doing underhanded things, some of which he follows through on. His one weakness is beautiful women, and can be convinced to do just about anything a pretty woman tells him to. He has a dark complexion, and is often mistaken as being of the drow race. He has been with the Silver Moon for 10 years. And as fans of Monty Python have already figured out, he is also the only rogue to have his own theme song.

Ebony Shadow, female 3rd level hengeyokai (cat sub-race) archer-ranger.
Chaotic Good. Was rescued from slavers by the Silver Moon a year ago. Is a loner, who is still rather uncertain about being around people. Can assume the form of a black cat, a black furred humanoid cat, or a beautiful human woman with long dark hair. She is still not comfortable with the idea of wearing clothing while in human form. The history and culture of the her home community can be found on the Plots & Places thread “Village of the Blessed Children”.

Fiona, female 6th level half-elf wizard..
Neutral Good. One of the more thoughtful and observant members of the party, Fiona often keeps to herself. She has never been very fond of fighters, finding them to be too impulsive and just plain dumb. She has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 12 years. She previously worked as a teamster, and is very good around horses. She has a black cat familiar, which is also named Ebony, and a white pegasus (that is currently nursing a newborn foal back on the Island).

Lannon, male 11th level dwarf rogue.
Neutral Good. He has a troubled soul, being the only survivor of an orc massacre. With a low strength, he took up the life of a rogue, something that he is not proud of. His life goal is to find the orc tribe that killed his family and avenge their deaths. He has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 12 years, and is their senior rogue. Serves on the Jawlt Council as the Minister of Inherent Priorities. He is also a skilled jeweler, and has made all of the Silver Moon rings that the party members wear. Lannon and Serita are close friends.

Mark, male 8th level half-elf ranger.
Neutral Good. Quiet and thoughtful, he is the party's senior ranger and a very skilled tracker. Likes to be left alone, and lives by himself in the Island’s deepest forest, miles from his nearest neighbor. He has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 14 years, having joined them early into their first mission. He never takes any type of leadership role unless giants or other humanoid monsters are around, when he then won’t hesitate to lead the party into battle. His key magic items is a +4 Longsword. His body has been altered to assume an aquatic form when triggered by a Dispel Magic spell, his form being an aquatic elf.

Mojo, male 8th level elf fighter.
Chaotic Good. Sidekick and former roommate of Narg. Has a sly wit and sharp tongue, making a joke or comment about anything. Has exceptional strength. He was recently appointed a General in the Queen's Army, and is also her lover. He likes to think of himself as still being reckless and irresponsible, although that has been slowly changing in recent years. He has been with the Silver Moon Adventurers for 13 years. His favorite magic items are a Hammer of Throwing and a Ring of Invisibility.

Narg, male 9th level half-elf fighter.
Chaotic Good. Founding member of the Silver Moon Adventurers, 14 years earlier. Is the unofficial leader of the Silver Moon Adventurers. He is charismatic, optimistic, and likes to make the most out of life. He has exceptional strength, but a below-average wisdom, which sometimes leads short-term planning that do not consider the long-term consequences. Despite this flaw, he serves on the Jawlt Council as the Minister of Military Strategy. He recently married the elf archer-ranger Vallessa, who is currently pregnant with their child. He wields a sword of sharpness that also protects him from fire, which he has named the "Nargblade". He often goes on trips with his Pooka friend Monty, who usually brings him to watch baseball games on a planet called Earth.

Serita, female 11th level half-elf druid.
Neutral. Founding member of the Silver Moon Adventurers, 14 years earlier. She is a major force to be reckoned with. She has a very quick temper, a sharp tongue and is in a perpetually foul mood. She has mellowed a bit during the past two months, since becoming romantically involved with Kindor, the Jawlt Lordholder. She serves on the Jawlt Council as the Minister of Religions. She lives in an elaborate house with gardens and trees, which is protected from intruders by a pair of black panthers outside and inside by her valet, a talking gorilla.

Timothy, male 7th level human cleric.
Lawful Good. Tall and extremely quiet, this humorless cleric has dedicated his life to the teachings of Ukko. He previously worked as a banker, is the head cleric of the Church of Ukko on the Island. He was a founding member of the Silver Moon Adventurers, 14 years earlier. As a reward quest for Ukko he was granted the ability to detect alignments of individuals around him by sensing an aura from them. He has to concentrate to activate this ability.

Silver Moon Adventurers - Non-Playing Characters (in alphabetical order):

Bruce the Bugbear, male 4th level fighter.
Chaotic Good. This flamboyant and rather effeminate bugbear was forced to leave home at a young age due to his unusual personality. He was hired by the Silver Moon Adventurers 13 years earlier to be a member of their ship’s crew. He perished on a mission 7 years ago, and was reincarnated as a female orc, but had the body polymorphed back to its former appearance. Last year he was promoted to a position as one of the ships officers. Dresses in his official uniform while on duty, but off-duty wears clothing from the Liberace and Elton John collections.

Cheveyo, male 2nd/2nd level half-human, quarter-demon, quarter-minotaur cleric/fighter.
Chaotic Neutral (although he attempts to be Chaotic Good). His full origin is detailed in Chapter 42 of the "Chinese Take-out" Story Hour. The short version is that his human mother was enslaved by a half-demon/half-minotaur that ruled a large clan of minotaurs. She escaped and then lived with a human tribe whose culture was similar to Native Americans, where he was born and raised (Cheveyo translates as “Spirit Warrior” in the Hopi language). He was brought up to be a fighter/cleric of the Twin Gods of Hotoru and Huan-Ti. Last year while on a journey the orient he was captured, enslaved, and later rescued by the Silver Moon Adventurers. He is half human but bears a strong physical resemblance to his father, standing nine-feet tall, having four arms, and a head that is a cross between a ram and a bull. He also inherited the demon abilities of projecting fear, telekinesis, and immunity to mind control spells. He has a quick temper, which he tries to keep under control. He speaks in a deep James Earl Jones voice. He is currently the clerical assistant to Vincenzo. In battle he wields in his four hands a two-handed sword (which he can use one-handed), a large battleaxe, a shield, and his holy symbol.

Furynick, male 6th level human fighter.
Neutral with Good and Lawful tendencies. Furynick is the archetype of the tough-guy macho fighter. As the name implies, he was based on the Marvel Comics character Nick Fury. He is a no-nonsense character who doesn’t let anyone or anything get in his way. He is one-eyed, with a big black eye patch covering his other eye. He always has a two-day growth of beard, and a perpetually lit cigar stub in his mouth (his favorite magic item). He has been with the Silver Moon for almost 14 years, and accompanied the party on nearly every mission during their early years.

Hiroshi, male 4th level human wizard.
Lawful Good with neutral tendencies. This 71-year old human from the Heian Empire (Japan) is a gifted linguist and successful jeweler and businessman. He joined the Silver Moon Adventurers a year ago. His life story is detailed in Chapters 3 and 12 of the "Chinese Take-out" Story Hour. He is currently married to a dwarven princess from Kara-Tur, and they have three children. The family now lives on Silver Moon Island along with his children’s halfling nanny. Hiroshi is a quick-thinking and charismatic, skills which allow him to talk his way out of most predicaments. (Hiroshi is actually a Playing Character of the current DM.)

Kharole, female 7th level elf wizard.
Chaotic Good. Founding member of the Silver Moon Adventurers, she and Narg dated for several years. When forced to quickly find a husband to get out of a shotgun wedding, and Narg refused, she married a fighter of the Silver Moon Adventurers named Silas. They have now been married for 12 years, and have two half-elvan sons. Her tactics are summarized as “Con’em or Blow’em Up”, as her two favorite spells are “Charm Person” and “Fireball”. Up until her sons were born she had a reputation for promiscuity, due in part to her being very flirtatious when attempting to charm foes, and partially because she continued to date Narg after marrying Silas. For the last decade she and Silas have been teachers at the Silver Moon School. Kharole has recently come “out of retirement”, and is anxious to resume adventuring.

Lee-May, female 2nd level half-hengeyokai (monkey sub-race) rogue.
Chaotic Good. Her father was a human wizard named Li-Tak, and her mother was a hengeyokai in his harem. Upon reaching puberty she was placed under a Stasis spell, and was awakened 4 years ago along with her 1 full-sister and 40 half-sisters. Last year “the girls” were brought to Silver Moon Island (for more detailed about the girls and their father refer to the “Village of the Blessed Children” Plots & Places thread and Chapters 59 and 94 of the "Chinese Take-out" Story Hour). Lee-May is only half-hengeyokai, however she and her sisters wear rings made by her father that allow them to transform like a full-hengeyokai. Her best friend is her full-sister Cai-Lin, who is apprenticing to be an archer-ranger. She is currently apprenticing with the halfling Blake to be a rogue. She is extremely enthusiastic about this instruction, and desperately wants to impress her teacher.

Vincenzo, male 7th level human cleric.
Chaotic Good. A cleric of the Twin Gods, the Native American Wind God Hotoru, and the Chinese God of War Huan-Ti. Vincenzo is a 300 pound six-foot tall balding human who wears a long full beard. He has been with the Silver Moon for 13 years, and is married to the human fighter Jamie, who runs the Silver Moon School. They have 9 children, 4 of their own and 5 that they adopted. His body has been altered to assume an aquatic form when triggered by a Dispel Magic spell, his form being a merman. He is not happy about Kharole coming out of retirement, as he always seemed to get caught insider of her Fireball spells. His favorite magic item is a pair of Shoes of Levitation, his current pair being woman’s high heal shoes, as they were the only pair he could find after his prior pair got burned up in one of Kharole’s fireballs.

Search for the Rod of the Seven Parts

The Search for the Rod of the Seven Parts
The initial adventure of the Silver Moon Adventurers played from May 1982 to May 1983. The story is posted on Dragonsfoot.org message board under the Campaign Journals forum, which can be reached at the following link:

http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1481

The story features the characters Kharole, Narg, Mark, Serita and Timothy who are described in the posts for the two Story Hours referenced above. Other playing characters featured in the Search for the Rod story (some for only very brief periods) are as follows:

Adajia
Female elf fighter. Younger sister of Kharole. Like her older sister, was very chaotic, reckless, and flirtatious. This was her only module. The party heard that she died a few years ago.

Alec
Male human fighter. Younger brother of Klaaze, this rather generic fighter had an incredibly low charisma. This was his only module as a playing character. Died during the adventure, being resurrected 5 years later.

Annie
Female human assassin. Real name Annette. She was hired by Lord Toronas to act as a spy on the party and ensure that the Rod of the Seven Parts is returned to him. She told the party that she was a fighter. This was her only module as a playing character. Died during the adventure, and was resurrected 1 year later by an enemy of the party. She has reappeared several times since then as an NPC enemy of the Silver Moon Adventurers. She is currently the regent of the Kaloon Lordholder, which she rules for King Matthan.

Augustine
Male human monk. Stoic and brave, he served a leadership role with the party, often being more authoritative than the chaotic party members liked. Adventured with the party during their first 2 years. Left with Lysdashi, Natasha, Nimmy and Phuddipeduzh to adventure on another world.

Beulla Bermitzolgawitz Phuddipeduzh
Female human fighter. Proving the old adage that opposites attract, this incredibly ugly woman was married to the handsome paladin Phuddipeduzh, and the mother of his daughter Janet. Died during this adventure and was resurrected 5 years later. Currently lives with Janet on Silver Moon Island, where she is a teacher at the Silver Moon School, which is run by her sister Jamie.

Brugatch’ll
Male human thief. Flamboyant and reckless, this charismatic thief died during the adventure and was resurrected 5 years later. Later adventured with the party a few more times before departing.

Draug-Carak (D.C.)
Male elf healer. Quiet and unassuming. This was his only module as a playing character. Died during the adventure and was resurrected 5 years later. Currently lives on Silver Moon Island as a permanent resident of Jerry’s Tavern and Inn, where he heals those who are injured in bar brawls or hung over.

Goodfellow, Sir
Male human paladin. An archetype for the traditional ‘Knight in Shining Armor’ this tall and charismatic young man had an unexpected destiny. This was his only module as a playing character. Died during this adventure and failed resurrection. His spirit has returned as a catalyst for modules 5 and 13 years later. His spirit is currently trapped by Loki in Asgard, which will be the catalyst for the concluding module in the ‘Spirit of Goodfellow’ trilogy.

Hherrmyie
Male half-elf fighter. A happy-go-lucky fighter whose principle weakness was beautiful women. Adventured with the party during their first 2 years.

Klaaze
Male human fighter. A macho tough-guy fighter with a bull-headed win-at-all-cost philosophy. The son of a rich landowner, was a rather selfish individual, with sometimes questionable morals. Adventured with the party during their first 3 years, and has turned up a few times since then as an NPC.

Lysdashi
Male half-elf ranger. Had exceptional strength, which he needed due to his tendency to be a pack-rat. He collected anything that might be of future use. This lead to his being over-encumbered, needing to spend the first few rounds of any situation unloading the mountain of overflowing packs and equipment that he carried around with him. Adventured with the party during their first 2 years. Left with Augustine, Natasha, Nimmy and Phuddipeduzh to adventure on another world.

Natasha
Female human thief. Had a gypsy background. A highly intelligent and somewhat selfish individual with a nasty streak in her, she worked well as a counter-balance for several of the other party members. Adventured with the party during their first 2 years, during which time she married a human fighter named Phraakeese, and had a son named Terrence George. Left with Augustine, Lysdashi, Nimmy and Phuddipeduzh to adventure on another world.

Nimmy
Female half-elf magic-user. Smart and beautiful, this elf trained Kharole on how to be an effective magic-user. This was her only module as a playing character. Left with Augustine, Lysdashi, Natasha and Phuddipeduzh to adventure on another world.

Phuddipeduzh
Male human paladin. Joined the party as a fighter in search of his missing wife and child. He soon took on a leadership role with the group, and following the death of his family took on the life of a paladin, dedicating himself to vanquish evil from the world. Adventured with the party during their first 2 years. Left with Augustine, Lysdashi, Natasha and Nimmy to adventure on another world.

Silas the One-Eyed
Male human fighter. Joined the group early into their first adventure, and adventured with the party during their first 4 years. This strong but not very bright fighter lost his eye during an early battle, wearing the wound as a badge of honor. He resides on Silver Moon Island as an NPC since then, working as a teacher at the Silver Moon School. Is married to the elf Kharole, and they have two half-elvan sons, Silas Junior and Christopher.

Tao
Male human monk. One of the most effective member of the party. He adventured with the party during their first 8 years. Left Silver Moon Island a few years back, and has not been seen since then.

Trimble Redwood
Female gnome thief. This was her only module as a playing character. Has turned up several times in the past 5 years as a member of other adventuring teams. She was first with the group known as the Elucidators. She is now with the team known as the Sea Castle Adventurers, where she is romantically involved with a halfling thief in that group.

Vilicus Dulcus
Male human illusionist. A very odd man who was somewhat preoccupied with sexual situations. This was his only module as a playing character. He died during the adventure and was resurrected 5 years later.

League of Assassins NPC Listing

The group decided to increase security at the auction facility by bringing in 14 experienced human fighters from the ship's crew as well as Narg's Archer-Ranger wife Vallessa. They also decided to retain the 10 human and dwarven construction workers. Because of the large number of NPC's now with the group I've given the players a listing as a handout which I am posting here.

Silver Moon

Adventurer
I have continued my posting of Silver Moon: Year One over on the Dragonsfoot board, at the following thread link:

http://www.dfforum.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1481

These include modules B2: The Keep on the Borderlands and L1: The Secret of Bone Hill. Several new characters were introduced in those and subsequent modules, including:

Araby:
Female Half-elf Fighter. From the same home village as Cassie-Andra. Often competes against Cassie, pointing out that she beat the mage as 'Homecoming Queen'. Personality very similar to the Cordelia character on "Buffy, TVS".

Boz:
Male human fighter. Hobby was construction, became the first carpenter of the group's ship.

Crystull:
Female Half-elf Illusionist. A total loner, chose not to associate with most of the party. Had a pet cat named Waterford.

Freyland:
Male Gnome Fighter. Rather typical fighter type with one exception, he has an extreme case of hyrdophobia.

Isaiah:
Male Human Cleric. From an African-based continent. He was the nephew of the King, who was sent away with Missionaries of Ukko to learn their religion. An extremely talkative and rather annoying man. Strives to be "lawful good" to almost an extreme.

Jamie:
Female Human Fighter . A girl sugar and sweetness personality, soft voice. Loves children and has a strong maternal instinct. Later married the cleric Vincenzo. Has been described as "Carol Brady with a longsword".

Jeremiah:
Gnome Thief. A middle-aged one-eyed gnome who was a former assassin whose alignment was changed, having him switch to thief. Most of his life he ran a tavern. In the current campaign he own and manages the Tavern and Inn on Silver Moon Island.

Lone Ranger:
Human Ranger. A loner, who would often appear just when the party was in need of his assistance, and then just as quickly disappear. (Really a plot device for a player who was away in the service, but would want to be able to join in the game whenever he happened to be home on leave).

Melina:
Female Human Fighter. A rather generic and seldom used character, was created by Kharole's player as a back-up character.

Phraakeese:
Male Human Fighter. A bard-want-to-be. This charismatic and flamboyant fighter ofter created problems for the party due to his attraction to young teenage girls.

Reginald:
Male Half-elf Fighter. Quick thinking fighter who also suffered from Obsessive Personality Disorder, feeling the need to make sure that his clothing and surroundings were always picture perfect.

Tolbyrne:
Elf Magic-user. A rather quiet individual, whose player soon regreted the choice of name, with the character constantly being called 'Tollbooth' instead.

Note: The characters of Cassie-Andra, Furynick, Mojo and Vincenzo were also introduced during "The Early Years". Their characters are described in above posts.

Silver Moon

Adventurer
I've started a thread with the Campaign Log of our group's spin-off team named Da'Bears. The thread can be found at the following link:

http://www.dfforum.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2604

The characters are as follows:

Benedict, male human cleric
Devoted follower of a monotheistic lawful good god that most people haven't ever heard of.

Durn Gimble, male dwarf fighter
Adventured when he was a boy forty years earlier until he became disillusioned with it. Moved to Eldamar City and took a job as a Firefighter. Retired after 20 years, opening a tavern with the former firehouse cook. Is laid back and has no real plan for life, just rolling with the punches.

Eric, male elf cleric/fighter
Follower of Zeus, a human rather than elvan god. He wishes to spread his religion. Is relatively new to the role of an adventurer. Former member of the Silver Moon Adventurers, who got bored with never being allowed to adventure with the higher level party, and sees this new team as an opportunity to lead a team.

Harald, male human fighter
Macho fighter, who engages in a variety of vices, including drinking, loose women, and gambling. Isn't very good at any of those things, which is why he always ends up broke and alone. Former member of the Silver Moon Adventurers who seldom got to do anything, and sees this team as a chance to get a new start.

Hotrod, male human magic-user
Young pyromanic mage who was disowned by his family after burning down his father's blacksmith shop. Views his role as the party's only mage as an opportunity to make a grand contribution.

Lady Lorry, female human paladin
Noble and devoted paladin dedicated to the god Ukko. Sees this mission as an opportunity to lean the life of an adventurer. Also enjoys getting to put her artistic skills to use.

Opal Silversteel, female dwarf cleric/fighter
Tough-as-nails take-charge kind of gal, looking for a chance to start a life in a society that respects the role of women more than her home clan did.

Patrick, male human monk
Professional sculptor, unsuccessful in his home city because of more talented competitors. Never had much money, and is very thrifty with any money that he makes. Has been appointed the leader of the group, even though he has little to no leadership ability.

Ryan, male elf thief
Rather incompetent thief, known more for his ability to set off traps than deactivate them. Was a member of Silver Moon Adventurers, although found his "membership" with them was pretty much regarded as a joke. Sees the new team as a chance to be useful.

Sir Augustus James Montigue
Takes the role of a paladin to an extreme, seeing everything as an opportunity to vanquish evil. Apprenticed to a rigid sect that requires the paladin to always stay in their armor until found worthy (thankfully the armor has built in "clean" cantrips that activate when needed).

Tba, male human fighter
Rather generic fighter-type, right down to the name which the player couldn't decide on so the DM jotted down "TBA" for To-Be-Announced and the player chose to keep it.

Troyan, male elf ranger
Another former member of the Silver Moon Adventurers. Has become the sidekick to Eric, and sees comic relief as one of his contributions to the party. Seeks to be polite, but often slips up.

Zoid, male half-hill giant fighter
Tall and mute, this rather simple-minded fellow follows Opal around like a puppy.
