Calidar, In Stranger Skies

5 out of 5 rating for Calidar, In Stranger Skies

In Stranger Skies starts with a series of journal entries from the captain of a skyship that gets hurled through a vortex into a new world. It's a great way to introduce the setting to the reader, and the Vortex is a great way to introduce characters to the setting.

The emphasis is on grand adventures I think, with lots of epic heroes and high magic. There are locations and characters that span the whole solar system, and the main planet is well detailed and has a few of the basic things you'd expect in a D&D style world, but with some fresh ideas as well.

It's mainly rules agnostic, but there are stats for Pathfinder in the appendix, for major NPCs and new monsters.

Well worth a look, I intend to use The Black Hack as my ruleset for this, but it would also suit 13th Age or D&D5 I think.
