Overall, it wasn't a waste-- there is some great roleplaying advice and trinkets to emphasize someone who wants to let loose their inner "Batman" or "Green Arrow", but i found the majority of feats either a bit underpowered, or in some cases had been done elsewhere, or better by cheap magic items (channel ray for instance was outdone by ghostvision gloves from another splatbook.) There was also a very strong fixation on bows, which I can understand due to their preeminence, but they kind of get enough play as the optimum ranged weapon. All in all, not bad but could have been more robust in non-bow options.

Our archer's player bought this and didn't find anything for her. But our rogue grabbed a couple of talents from here that are simple and really help expand on her theme. Overall, I think the rules content in here is better for characters trying to break into ranged combat than ones that are already dominating there. Which is generally a sign of good design.

It is a good mix of tactics, feats and new stuff. Overall the writing and presentation seem top notch!!

An interesting read, but I didn't really find anything new/useful in this book for my characters. I would not recommend purchasing it.

On the whole, Ranged Tactics Toolbox is a decent book and there are some things in it that I rather like. However, I don't think those things are memorable enough to draw me back to the book when I'm designing new characters, even ones that specialise in ranged combat. There's just so much else out there, more than any one person can possibly keep track of. As a result, even the good stuff gets lost.
