Samad glanced over his shoulder to see the rest of the goblins charging. This was no longer a favorable position. He lashed out at his still standing foe, who merely stepped to the side and began to laugh at his own cleverness, not realizing that Samad had merely wanted him to make an opening. He dove forward, planting his palms onto the dirt, pivoting and launching himself forward, before turning in the air and landing on his feet. The goblin's grin turned to grit as Samad raised his sword again in challenge.

Technically it's 31, because I used the wrong modifier (Dance instead of Acro) and forgot Heroism, but it's still more than enough to beat the DC anyway. Maybe I should just do the roll and add the modifiers afterward from now on, since I always seem to screw it up somehow anyway... :p[/sblock]

The shaman's legs go out from under him as Pirvinia magically coats the ground beneath his feet with grease. He crawls forward on hands and knees, still shouting a warning. The chieftan comes barreling down the passageway faster than something that short should be able to move, and hurdles the slippery patch with ease. He lands on the far side and skids to a stop on the gravel floor, then turns around, sniffing the air. Other goblins begin moving back to support the shaman and the chief, but are obviously confused by the lack of a visible foe.

The rest of the horde continues pouring into the western room, attacking whoever they can. The sergeants hang back, shouting orders and firing into the melee. Two crossbow bolts narrowly miss Ru, and Samad tastes a nasty slash.

Combat Map

[sblock=OOC]The ceiling is fairly low, barely 7 feet or so, which is why the goblins weren't too worried about an ogre attack. I figure a 3-3.5 foot goblin with a miscellaneous weapon could reach almost 6 feet, which means Mazi could fly out of reach, but doesn't have a lot of room to work with. So the alternatives I see are:
1. Move out of reach carefully. Half speed but no AoOs. DC 15 Fly check.
2. Move out of reach at full speed. No AoOs. DC 20 Fly check.
3. Move at full speed, provoking AoOs.

Shaman crawls forward, stands up. Chieftan double moves back to the east chamber and crushes the Acrobatics roll to long jump the Grease spell. A few other goblins come back, but are confused and either don't attempt Perception checks or don't pass them.

Ru gets shot at: two misses. Samad gets hit for 7. Everyone else misses.

Party is up.

Grey squares are difficult terrain: tables, beds, or slop-buckets for the most part.

From his new position, Samad could see that they were still in a bind, as more goblin poured in from either side. If they together did not move, then they would be caught in the tide's pincer's. He looked to the entrance, and realized their folly. Should they fight there, then they could turn this two front battle into one. It, however, took the nomad perhaps too long to realize this, as one of the small beasts raked its blade across his thigh. He could not help but cry out in pain, but he did not linger. Almost reflexively, he rolled into it, turning around and kicking off again, launching himself forward and away from the biting blades. Rolling into his landing, he sprung up and darted toward the entrance, but not before turning to beckon to the beast that was Iago, praying he would understand.

"C'mon!" The elf cried, "To the mouth! We can hold them off there!"

Updated Map
[sblock=OOC]Ack, sorry to hear that, B. Hope everything turns out alright. :/

Samad sacrifices a standard action to acrobatics for half his speed (20') westward Perform (Dance) 1d20+18=25, before using his regular move action to get all the way back.
EDIT: It just occurred to me that I should probably roll for each goblin Samad is avoiding, but since their CMDs are 16 and his modifier is 18, I don't think there's any chance of him failing, even if I roll a 1.[/sblock]

Pirvinia whispered to the prisoner in the cage, “Just be quiet and don’t move. We will be getting you out of here.”

“I am taking your prisoner,”
she said aloud for the goblin’s benefit.

She cast another spell, this time an illusion to show a flash of light inside the cage, then smoke to obscure the interior that dissipated within a few seconds. Then her illusion showed the cage being empty.

Meanwhile the earth elemental continued to bash goblins.

"Just let me finish with my dance partners," Ru calls after the sprinting Samad. He takes a step up, blades whirling as he locks his gaze on the grunt to his left. The grunt is a bit more spry than his fellows, so while he feels the bite of Ru's attacks twice, he remains standing.

Iago shuffles sideways, his blood-soaked falchion hovering menacingly over the wary goblin. But even as the half-orc's foe watches the steel, Iago's left hand goes to his belt for a walnut-sized chunk of glass. He throws it sidearm, letting it arc down on the goblin at the entryway. An enormous explosion of green flame illuminates the goblins' wretched lair.

First Post
Iago's bomb shakes the goblin horde's resolve, as several of them go down and others are badly burned. The sergeants yell to press the attack, and for the grunts, the fear of their superior officers outweighs the fear of a horrible firey demise ... if only slightly. The goblins surge forward again.

In the back room, the chieftan looks angry when the prisoner disappears, but the shaman shouts orders, and the chief grits his teeth and holds. The shaman moves to where he heard Pirvinia's voice and begins groping about trying to find an invisible invader. With dubious expressions, the others spread out and begin feeling for the invisible foe as well, while the chieftan seethes and waits. Despite Privinia's best efforts, the grunt in the northern passage grabs hold of her tunic, and with a look of surprise, he starts shouting an alarm. The invisible foe finally being located, the chieftan laughs maniacally and charges with a ferocious overhand swing that slashes the sorceress badly. Even so, she counts herself lucky that she didn't take the full forceof the attack, which buries itself in the gravel floor. Grinning, the chieftan pulls the axe up, readying another attack.

Combat Map

[sblock=OOC]Weird luck on the die rolls today. I made sixteen total rolls and got three 1s and three 20s.

To start, only one of the goblins made the saving throw, so that hurt (1, 1, 3, 5, 16 natural rolls). Various attacks and movement in the front room.
* G9 is disabled and withdraws.
* S4 shoots at Samad and misses, because what goblin wouldn't shoot the guy running away?
* G14 (entangled) double moves forward.
* G17 5 foot steps for the flank. Crits (20) and confirms (18) for 17 to Ru. Meanwhile, S4 rolls a natural 1. Other grunt misses.
* One of the goblins hits Iago for 3. The other one misses.

In the back room, the shaman moves up and makes touch attacks to find an invisible foe. The other goblins move to the chokepoints and do the same thing. The chieftan delays, then attacks once Pirvinia is found.
* S3 crosses the Grease without faceplanting.
* G4 rolls a natural 20 on his touch attack to find Pirvinia, and makes the concealment roll.
* Chief delays, then charges and rolls a 20 to hit, then a 2 to confirm. Also, makes the concealment roll. 13 damage to Pirvinia.

Party is up.

Pirvinia mentally curses at the bad luck of being found, but she was still able to protect the prisoner and she resisted the temptation to retaliate after being hurt by the goblin chieftain. She slipped between the goblin and the wall, heading deeper into the cavern lair while maintaining sight on her illusion spell covering the prisoner in the cage.

Meanwhile her earth elemental continued to smash at the nearest goblin (15), nearly taking the grunt down, but leaving him staggering.
