Solomon turned to regard Melisande a smile playing on her lips. "Thievery? Goodness no. Borrowing is not the same as thievery, as far as I know. Borrowing infers returning the horse to its owner. And if the horse is not in use one could even talk to said owner about repaying his favour upon our return. I imagine that ... Frost ... if she is the leader of her people, would not be against offering a small sum of gratitude for our aid which a part could be paid to the lender of the horse upon return to Vezna. There are all sorts of ways that borrowing can happen, and I'm pretty sure none of them qualify as thievery. I can't stand thieves!" SHe flashed a bright smile at the paladin. "But Heinrich and his magical steeds will save us the searching out of such a situation, so there seems to be no need."

As the wizard had resolved the issue and it didn't matter if the paladin believed her or not, Solomon also turned her conversation towards the matter at hand. "The library is a place I find most terrifying! Dying of boredom would be a most tragic way to go! No offence Heinrich. I am elated that such is only my opinion and we have those amongst us much more capable than I at battling with dusty tomes and parched scrolls. I am happy to go along with Aradra and talk to anyone about the Portals." When the group split, that was what she did, not entirely sure where to start herself but more than happy to tag along and see how she could make herself useful.

Aradra tenses nervously as Sol and Melisande got into a heated topic of "borrowing" mounts. However, when Heinrich offers up an alternate solution, Aradra is glad that the topic ends there.

Aradra speaks first to Heinrich "I do not have anything more personal, unfortunately. Would it have helped the spell? Also, are you sure about casting mounts for the 4 of us? If Melisande wants a summoned horse that is. "

"As for a meeting place..."
Aradra ponders for a moment before saying "We could meet at the library. That gives Sol and I a chance to look for the embassies , Melisande a chance to grab her gear, and Heinrich a chance to scry. We could then depart for the Mystic pearl to grab any last items, before heading out. Searching a library would be quicker if all of us were there."

He grabs his gear, and whistles to Shadow, who so far was curled up on the floor after Sol and Melisande's petting. Shadow jumps up and heels at Aradra's right side, and the solider reaches down to scratch the wolf's ears.

"Ja, ist fur das spell, but it does not get consumed. Ist focus. But das letter will do well. May I?" When handed the letter and every one disperses to their own way, heinrich will head directly to his uncle's the give word that he will be leaving soon to keep and eye on his place, then he heads home to clean of his mirror. He spends 5 minutes concentrating to clear his mind, focusing his attention on the letter and the writer of it, one knowen as frost.

He takes an inventory of his spells, mentally. He has nothing prepared. *sigh* He takes the mirror in one hand and the letter in the other focusing on both, and reaching out his mind to his spell book, to the memory of what is in there, Scry. Chanting slowly and softly. Over and over. Calling out the name of Frost in the most benign way possible. . . . .

Melisande nodded and replied, "Very well, we shall meet at the library. I am not much for research, but I can talk with people."

"However, I have no need to visit the Mystic Pearl. At least I do not know of any supplies that I might need that I do not already have. Unless we all need to pick up some alchemist fire... however a few flasks will likely only annoy a frost giant than do serious harm."


The female paladin departed the tavern and headed back to the Chapter House of Helerion.

Upon a arrival, she summoned a young paladin to ready her mount and instructed another to pack her platemail instead of helping her to don it. Heavy armor would likely scrape and annoy the inhabitants of the library and the archives in the Chapter House. Before gathering up all her gear, she visited the old cleric in the archives to inquire about the portals and the lands they were going.

". . . ost." . . . And he's looking down at a rocky, frost rimed valley. Really, more a gash in the rocks of the mountain, plainly well above the tree line. A tall, muscular woman with platinum hair and ice blue eyes is hobbling through the encampment on crutches, clapping fur-clad warrior on the shoulder as they wolf down some sort of soup or stew and plainly sharing encouraging words with them. She looks up and around, a puzzled expression on her handsome features, then winces as she inadvertently puts weight on her splinted leg.

Before he has time to observe more, Heinrich's consciousness is once more whisked away, this time a little more slowly. He's able to get a general impression of a route down through various passes, and to make note that the setting sun is to his left . . . plainly he's moving down the northern faces of the mountains. Before he has time to do more than make this quick mental note, he accelerates once more and the landscape becomes a blur. When he slows, he finds himself looking into wetlands and tropical jungle. Though he's incapable of feeling the temperature, he gets the strong impression of muggy heat.

And with that, Heinrich is once more sucked off, this time to the north and west, and his consciousness passes once more into his physical body.[/sblock]

After a brief conversation to establish exactly the information for which she's looking, the old man bustles off to a shelf toward the back of the archives and pulls down a tome almost too large for him to handle. The volume lands on the table with an audible smack, and he hauls it open. After flipping through the pages rapidly, the old man exclaims his satisfaction and turns to Melisande. "Yes, yes, I thought I recalled as much . . . Well, young lady, there are four gates that are near enough to the Seithr ranges to possibly serve your purposes. One is in the southern reaches of Tal Hallow. Rhatmatanis has two gates - one near the northern section of the mountains, and one in the lower reaches of the souther portion. The final gate is in Heth, in the lower reaches of the range's southern half."[/sblock]

Fro . . . . .st, *Gasp!*she is hurt! His thought race faster then they have ever done, but he still commits everything to memory.

When he gets to the end of the vision, he writes it all down on a sheet of paper, rolls it it up and seals it. For safety sake he hides it in his infinite scroll case. He checks his memory of spells and speaks a single arcane word . . . .

Melisande looked over the information about the portals, but the names of the places meant little to her and how close they were to aid in their journey to reach Frost in a timely fashion.

"Hmmm, that helps, but four portals leaves us with too many choices. Do you have some maps of these regions too? Also we are supposed to help the people of Clan Ha'Gruut, do you have any information about them or the Frost Giant Varithian?"

"Also where is the nearest portal to Venza?"

Aradra goes outside to talk to Grog and Marla, and asks them where the embassies of Rorn and Irthos were located at. Meanwhile, the wolf seems to sense that something has made the solider restless, as Shadow always remains at his heel the entire time, but glances up at Aradra anytime he speaks.

Knowing that he would have the most luck with the Irthos embassy first, once Aradra finds the location to it he departs for it immediately. He motions for Sol to follow him since the woman already said she would. However, Aradra is at a loss for words for discussion topics, as the more pressing issue of finding out how to get to the Seithr mountains seems to be keeping his mind occupied.
