D&D 5E [IC] hafrogman's Hoard of the Dragon Queen

Jeni_bear growls in pain and anger as the attack hits her. Even though this form is only borrowed thanks to her gift from nature spirits, the pain is quite real.
She focuses her attention on the nereast ennemies, and attacks the closest one.

OOC: Attack ennemy at H11 (not sure how this works since it is in Jeni_bear's space), then G10 if the first one is slain

Venn rushes forward falling in line beside the wounded peasant (M). He glances about the battlefield, his eyes ablaze with blue fire. Noticing the cultist beside Morgan he raises his arm and another blast of ethereal force rips through the air.

OOC: [roll0]

Firing at the cultist beside Morgan (N6). I can't hold person on the leader because I'm too far away. Blast.

The only person near enough to hear Venn through the firefight would be their rescued peasant. However understanding what Venn spoke of was something else entirely. It was a dead language unheard of or spoken for millennia.

Venn's crackling bolt of energy lances out from the darkness and blasts one cultist, laying him flat in an instant.
Hunter rushes forward and takes the first opening he sees, but doesn't get a clean hit as a result, and only scratches his cultist.
Jeni looks up to the flying nuisance above her head, but seeing it out of reach, she crashes down on the cultist nearest her and mangles him badly.
The winged kobold climbs higher into the air and flings another rock at the bear, scoring another direct hit.
The guards on the ground engage the nearest foes, injuring the kobold, but failing to hit the cultist.
The guards above the gate hurl spears at Hunter's target, but only one connects. Between that and Hunter's blow, the cultist is looking rather worse for wear.
On the other side of the keep, the guards kill a kobold and wound two cultists.

OOC: Jeni is hit for [roll0] damage from another rock.

Glancing over her shoulder, Morgan smiled and gave a nod of thanks to Venn. With her opponent down and Hunter being assisted by the guards at the keep, the warrior charged into combat to assist Jeni, who was taking more than her fair share of licks. As she charged, she yelled out, "Carad!" and pointed to the winged kobold, hoping the expert bowman would take it down.

Maneuvering through the melee, Morgan whirled her flail and struck at the remaining kobold engaged with Jeni. Her attack landed solidly, knocking the creature off its feet.

"Not to worry, Jeni, the infantry has arrived!" Morgan said, bolstering her ally's resolve.

OOC: Forgot the Rally roll. Jeni gains [roll0] Temp HPs.

...and I forgot that CHA modifier is added in, so 5 Temp HPs.

Jeni_bear growls lowder, in appreciation of the support she is getting from Morgan, and continues to finish off the cultist.

OOC: Attack same cultist as last round, and closest foe afterwards if applicable.

OOC: I know it's the cultists' initiative first but I'll be away soon and don't want to hold things up. Please amend where necessary.

Carad glanced briefly at the cultist that Hunter was engaged with but hearing his commander's directions, he turned and aimed his bow at the flying kobold, hoping that taking down the leader might demoralise the remaining kobolds.

After launching his arrow, without waiting to see if it hit its target, Carad deftly stepped back behind the keep wall, hiding from view of the bulk of the raiders, his image growing faint at the same time as if he was not entirely on this plane.

His back pressed against the wall, he signalled the family of five to stay, instructing them, "Hold first until Hunter and the guards clear the enemy at the gate. Then run for it."

OOC: Action: Attack with shortbow

Bonus Action: Cunning Action to Hide

Venn spots Carad as he ducks behind the corner of the wall. Ignoring the others completely he moved up beside the scout and his eyes again glow a eerie blue.

"Step aside Carad. One must be one with the sky to feel the wind." His hand flicks towards the flying Kobolds and with a short flick of his wrist, and some intricate gesture, another arc of energy blasts towards Venn's enemies. If one were to pay attention to Venn they would notice his face ever so slightly begin to smile at his cryptic elvish remark.

Just in case I get a change to blast the flying dude here it is!

Morgan moves in, and with a crack of her wrist, cracks a kobold skull.
Scree sees that the cultists on the east side break and run under a hail of spears.
The cultists on the west swing their blades again but utterly fail to achieve anything.
Carad fires at the winged kobold. Or roughly in that direction, anyways.
Linan and Curth hold their children back at Carad's warning, and the two peasants caught in the crossfire continue to wait for an opening.
The kobolds in the south continue their assault on the walls, inflicting minor injuries with their slings, while one charges Morgan, but cannot penetrate her guard.
Venn steps forward and blows the winged kobold out of the sky. With him dies the kobold assault and the DM's dreams of a recurring villain.
Jeni continues her rampage, killing Morgan's attacker and severely wounding a cultist.

OOC:
Hunter 22
Jeni 19
Guards 14
Morgan 13
Cultists 13
Carad 12
Commoners 12
Kobolds 5
Venn 4

Hunter, you're up.
