The knock of Autumn's quiver against the door frame is enough to startle Barnibus awake. The druid only makes it to the door of the house when she hears movement in the sheep pen. The animals are moving about, agitated. Something seems to be moving about outside the pen as well. It is dark but the moon is bright and provides dim light.

Arradon moves on cat-feet to the door when he hears it creak as if someone is attempting to open it quietly. Suddenly it stops, but Arradon is certain it wasn't from any sound he made. Someone is on the other side of the door.

GM: Now moving into combat rounds. PCs have initiative and everyone is awake.
Round One: Everyone is up.

Aelspeth wakes groggily but Autumn's words and the shift in the druid's voice bring her rapidly to her senses. She rolls out of the bed, leaving Darwin to his slumber, and pads barefoot toward the front of the house. With a word of power and a gesture, the longbow beside her pack flies to her hand. She braces it between her legs and strings it while looking sidelong at Barnibus. "Arradon went to sleep in the barn? And what of Kristia?"

Being startled awake, Barnibus roles out of the bed suddenly and crashes to the floor with a loud thump. Upon getting his bearings he grabs his axe from the side of the bed and stands to his feet confused at the commotion,"What is with this racket in the middle of the night! Are there foul beasts around? Did one of the little ones go missing? Is someone playing a foul trick?" He says each sentence with his voice rising a little higher,"What is going on on?!?!"

[sblock=OOC] Being aroused from his sleep without any word on what is going on Barnibus is a little confused at all the commotion and only sees Autumn going out into the night and Aelspeth's question partially through drowsy ears. Will do more to my action if I hear more sounds or get clarification from other characters as to what the commotion is [/sblock]

Autumn sees a small humanoid figure next to the barn in the sheep pen. It is working at the door and seems to be trying to open it without making much noise. She also catches a glimpse of a second figure in the shadows next to the fence. Based on what Aelspeth said on their journey to the farm these creatures are probably kobolds.

The dimlight before dawn illuminates the creatures, and Autumn gasps. Without further hesitation she invokes the ancient words of her ancestors. "ilẹ aiye yio dè ọ" She waves her right arm over the ground, forcefully pushes her fist into the dirt and pulls up a long, red root. Within moments, grasses, weeds, shrubbery and vines rapidly grow out of the very earth itself, totally encompassing much of the farmstead.
