People have mentioned that there doesn't seem to be enough meat in the adventure book to cover 13 weeks of sessions. Even including the Event Supplement from Wizards, there does seem to be a dearth of actual "encounters." I've thought of a few additional ones I plan to use, and thought we could have a thread for them. I'll start with the only one I've fully fleshed out as of yet.

All for One

With the rise of tensions in the city, Rilsa Rael feels that she needs to speak for all Outer City residents, but especially those from Calimshan. While most of them owe her enough favors that their support is guaranteed, there are some merchants with broad enough connections and family ties that they can flout her assumed authority.
One such holdout is the human Lady Sala Nidris, a merchant and Calishite expatriate. She normally resides in the city of Neverwinter up the coast, but recent events there have caused her to bring her son Zan to visit relatives in Baldur’s Gate on a recuperative vacation; her trade connections with the Eomane, Redlocks, and Vannath patriar families ensured that this would be a working vacation for her even as it took her son away from his troubles.
She has been staying in Little Calimshan with her brother-in-law, the widower Mahmoud, who sold candied and exotic fruits in the Wide with his two daughters. Mahmoud was killed during the Founder’s Day massacre, and Lady Nidris found her stay extended in order to deal with his effects and the disposition of his daughters. Under Lady Nidris’ guidance, Mahmoud’s daughters have repeatedly rejected the financial aid Rael offered them. Their affairs in order, Lady Nidris has made arrangements to depart the city; the perceptive merchant princess can tell that something dangerous is afoot.
In order to demonstrate to the rest of Little Calimshan the benefits of standing united, Rael's agents have led a bigoted Watch commander to believe that Lady Nidris has used her connections to enable her to smuggle goods out of the city without paying the tariff. He orders a patrol to search her luggage for contraband, telling them to deliver a beating to anyone who resists.
In the Guild’s Employ: If the characters are working for Rael, she asks them to protect Lady Nidris’ family and retainers while they are still in Baldur’s Gate. Lady Nidris stops by the mansions of her patriar contacts in the Upper City to pick up trade goods prior to boarding the ship that will take her home. While Lady Nidris, her son Zan, and three patriar retainers are in the streets of the Upper City, a Watch patrol (six Watch soldiers and a sergeant) shows up and brusquely demands to go through the Lady’s belongings.
While Lady Nidris argues with the Watch sergeant about this, the soldiers fan out. One of them roughly pulls Zan from his perch on a crate, thinking that the youth is helping to hide the goods, and throws him to the ground. One of the Lady’s retainers hits the soldier in retaliation, and the melee begins.
Not Working for the Guild: If the characters are not associated with the Guild, Rael has sent two thugs to protect Lady Nidris as a “sign of support,” but has underestimated the Watch’s response. The characters may be on hand when it happens, and if so will see the Watch members overwhelming Lady Nidris’ guards with unnecessary force. The heroes’ intervention will earn Lady Nidris’ gratitude (both in money and in influence) and will earn positive notice from Rilsa Rael, who didn’t want to lose a prominent Calishite.
If the characters fail to intervene, the patrol lashes out when they find no contraband, killing one of the Lady’s guards and crippling Zan. This causes a public outcry in the Outer City, which weakens Lord Silvershield’s support while strengthening Rael’s position. If the adventurers kill a Watch member, they are labeled murderers and treated accordingly.

KEEPING TRACK
Rael gains one rank on Bhaal’s Favor Track if the characters fail to defend Lady Nidris, or otherwise do not prevent the Watch from delivering a beating.

One question. When does Lady Nidris going through Upper City? It seems out of the way. Unless it's a deliberate act, which I guess it is, I would think they would take Basilisk Gate straight to the docks and avoid the toll and guards of Upper City.

Blaze Ravengard needs leverage over the Guild, but the level of corruption in Baldur’s Gate makes that extremely difficult. He thinks he has devised a plan that will work.
Ravengard has seeded rumors of a cache of weapons in a nondescript house near one of the Flaming Fists’ Lower City garrisons in order to draw out one of the Guild’s members; he wants the heroes of the Founder's Day massacre to keep an eye on the “cache” and apprehend anyone who tries to steal it.
Ravengard’s rumors have their desired effect—a new Guild Operator named Enda Yate has decided to steal the cache in order to ingratiate herself with her new boss Nine-Fingers. The halfling used to be a petty thief in Waterdeep until the place became dangerous for her; then she ran a bandit gang on the borderlands to the east before they were slaughtered by adventurers. She drifted until arriving in Baldur’s Gate where some of her old Waterdhavian contacts put her in touch with Nine-Fingers. She’s considering trying to take over the Guild someday, but her well-honed survival instinct tells her that Nine-Fingers would be an extremely dangerous enemy, so she bides her time.
Enda Yate has recruited some thugs to help her with this gig, and will most likely have them start a diversion while she tries to steal the “cache.” Come up with a floorplan for the townhouse and let the players decide how they will guard the “cache.” Ravengard will make it very clear that he needs prisoners, and preferably the ringleader.
If the heroes manage to catch Enda Yate, she will offer them inside information or some small amount of cash in order to get free. If the characters turn her over to Ravengard, he has her secretly confined to a cell and, as time goes by and the influence of Bhaal grows, uses ever more distasteful interrogation methods in order to get the information he wants.
Enda Yate can show up later during the prison break (stage 10), perhaps crippled from the mistreatment she has received during her torture.

KEEPING TRACK
Ravengard gains one rank on Bhaal’s Favor Track if the characters turn over Enda Yate.

Should the party need to get in to the Lower City either unseen or after lockdown, Rael can offer to sell them a map of a “safe route” through one of the many sewer pipelines that pass under the wall from the Outer City to join with the main sewers before emptying into the harbour.

She knows of several of these routes, but this particular one has become unusable recently due to something taking up residence and having injured several guild members and killed one. The survivors spoke of reptilian creatures attacking them from the waters.

The truth of the matter is a small group of kobolds have entered the sewer system and chosen those particular tunnels to claim as their own. They have collected several baubles that have made their way into the sewers and set up a number of traps to ward off the nosey.

Any that make their way past the traps will be ambushed by the kobolds and their leader.

Kobolds x 5, Kobold leader (either an alchemist or a dragonshield)

KEEPING TRACK
Rael gains one rank on Bhaal’s Favor Track if the characters kill the kobolds, if they get rid of them without bloodshed she gains nothing other than another clear route under the wall.

I started to put this together during the campaign, but unfortunately it never really gelled until afterward. My group never really interacted with Silvershield, so it wouldn't have come up. Still someone else might make use of it.
Much like my previous entries, it makes use of a character from a previous D&D Encounters season, namely Barcero, one of the antagonists from Search for the Diamond Staff (season 14). I won't provide my will-o'-wisp stats, since they are easily replicated by reference to the 2E and 3E versions, and they've been superceded by the will-o'-wisp from the bestiary of season 18, Dead in Thay.
An Envoy from the Shadows
As one of the Council of Four, Lord Silver-shield is sometimes called upon to act as host for emissaries from other countries. This is a duty that carries the opportunity for enormous profits, both material and political.
A Sembian mage named Barcero has come to Baldur’s Gate in order to look into hiring Flaming Fists mercenaries for his many tasks. Barcero is a portly but well-dressed human, who prefers to remain in safety while sending his mercenaries to do his dirty work. Recently, he was betrayed by a Zhentarim mercenary unit that he had used for years, so he feels the need to diversify his agents.
Lord Silvershield has received a message from Barcero’s rivals in Sembia that, if something were to happen to the mage, there would be a profit in it. Duke Torlin can’t do anything directly since Barcero represents the Shadovar, who would make powerful enemies. Instead, he asks the heroes to escort Barcero; then, as an aside, he mentions that he suspects the wizard of evil intentions in the city, and asks that the heroes keep an eye on the wizard and take appropriate steps if they see him cross the line.
Silvershield had previously mentioned to Barcero that the founders of Baldur’s Gate were interred with many prizes from other lands, including supposedly tomes of Netherese lore and magic treasures from the Shadowfell. Silvershield expects that the temptation to try to loot some of these items from the tombs of revered heroes of the past will prove impossible for Barcero to resist.
Barcero proves to be at least an entertaining conversationalist, and several days pass without issue; the party meets Barcero at his inn (the Blade and Stars), escorts him to businesses in the Upper, Lower, and Outer City where he speaks to the proprietors, and provide local color commentary when he chooses to see a local landmark.
After parting from the player group one evening, Barcero goes to his rooms, dons a (fairly unskilled) disguise, and dimension doors to an alley nearby. From there, he makes his way to the waterfront, where he boards a rowboat crewed by two tough thugs who were recommended to him. The boat makes its way across the harbor toward Tumbledown, where Barcero intends to search the Szarr family crypts (location 90). He has become intrigued by Lord Silvershield’s carefully planted rumors and local lore regarding red and green lights seen there some nights (scenario book page 61).
Silvershield, not one to put all his eggs in one basket, has also alerted the Flaming Fists, who have sent a patrol of six Flaming Fist privates and a Flaming Fist sergeant to keep an eye on the cemetery.
In the crypt, a will-o’-wisp lies in wait, having been stirred to activity by the events of the “Planted Evidence” stage (see the official events supplement).
KEEPING TRACK
Silvershield gains one rank on Bhaal’s Favor Track if the players fail to prevent Barcero’s death.

Pardon me for rehashing this topic just a bit, but I am interested in running Murder in Baldur's Gate and I was looking for the pdf downloads that WotC had posted for that adventure. I found the monster stats, but he event supplement has apparently been taken down (not sure why). See link http://media.wizards.com/downloads/dnd/minbg_events.pdf
Would it be improper to ask if someone could send me the pdf or post it somewhere? Since it was free and I have purchased the adventure, I don't think there would be any issues.

Thanks,

Collin

Hi Collin,

Although most of the various supplements for Murder were originally free releases, I think they may have been removed from the WotC site once that adventure went up for sale on DnD Classics. The bundle of PDFs included with Murder in Baldur's Gate for purchase there definitely includes the Events Supplement, Monster Statistics and Launch Weekend files, all of which were originally freebies.

I do realise that this information probably isn't very helpful in getting you a copy of the Events Supplement. Sorry about that :(.
