Erevan moves to the dead drow, tossing the hand crossbow to Surana before dragging the corpse into the slave pen and removing the armor. His plan is to don the chain and then free his fellow slaves from their shackles.

Surana catches the crossbow awkwardly, her shackles impeding her movement. She tries to aim for the drow Ezraen has just reached, but her chains are making the bow unwieldy.

The drow in the tower winces as the shot from the barbarian skims across his face. He maneuvers to the side of the tower so he can't be seen from the pen any longer (and more towards the southwestern door) and attacks Ezraen with his shortsword.

OOC: No one else is outside the pen, right? So no one can really see what the one at the guard post is doing...he stops blowing his horn. You can hear the quaggoths in their pen roaring with excitement

OOC: This is the one outside the watchtower, right? The one that I stole his dagger, right? I want to clarify that he is not on the bridge anymore, right?


Recoiling back from the hit, Ezraen tosses the dagger to his other hand as he spins and hooks his arm around the drow's sword arm, then slices along his wrist to cause the drow to release his blade!

The quaggoth launches himself over Erevan as he struggles with the drow corpse, shouting some elvish war cry (to those of you who speak elvish, it is only gibberish). He disappears around corner, a crossbow bolt thuds against the wall. There is a hideous growling sound, a cry and the sound of cracking bone...then silence.

Ront runs into the tower and slams his body against the drow's sword arm, pinning it. Buppido is right behind and begins stabbing the hapless elf repeatedly. He drops to a knee. Ezraen plunges the drow's dagger into his throat, finishing him. His sword and crossbow drop to the floor.

OOC: Okay...both drow are dead. So let's come out of initiative for the moment. You can have a few rounds worth of actions (let's say 4 or 5) to move into the tower (or wherever you want). During this time...


The light isn't great and your line of sight is pretty narrow so it's hard to tell what is going on in the vicinity of the main hall and the other towers, but you can see several drow running too and fro. Suddenly multicolored flames start flying up at the flying creatures. They duck and dodge but two are struck. Their entire bodies are wreathed in an eerie flame...it doesn't appear to harm them but it gives you your first good look at the monstrosities that they are.

There seem to be a total of 6. Two are the vulture looking creatures. Four are the insect looking kind. The two different types seem to be battling each other. It is hard for you tell what the drow are doing but so far you can see that the door to Ilvana's tower is still open. You don't know whether anyone is in that tower at the moment.

One of the vulture creatures dives toward the main platform near area 3. You can't get a good look at what is happening, but it lets out a horrific shriek. It's sound is filled with supernatural power that makes your knees nearly buckle even a 150' away.

OOC: I'd like to hear from each of you what you'd like to do over the course of 5 rounds or so. All of the NPCs are moving into the tower and clamoring to get their shackles off.
 

Evandur attempts to find a weapon. If the keys can get him out of the manacles, he will use them to free himself and then use the manacles as a makeshift weapon until a better one is found. He will likely move towards the armory if the way is clear.

Evandur can easily get into the armory and find his own gear. The armory is just at the top of a steep set of stairs and is unguarded. He probably can't don his armor yet. But he can equip weapons and shield ( if he had one).
 

Evandur gathers his possessions in the armory, taking special care to equip his shield and longsword. The well worn grip felt comfortable in his hands, a shield in and of itself against the nightmares that plagued him both in his sleep and in this strange land. He gathers the rest in a sack, though places the werewolf tooth around his neck along side the holy symbol of lathander. Feeling emboldened, looks out of the armor to see which of his companions are nearest to assist in the escape.
