Corilo examined the weapon. His crafting experience and training told him much the same as Brue's inspection revealed; it was a finally crafted stone hammer. The crossbowman was unaware of any crafting technique that would allow for the creation of a usable weapon made of granite.

Leaving the pile of goods inside the cave for now, the party exited the cave and regrouped on the shore. Night had fallen during the inspection of the cave. Above and to the southwest, the tip of the manor's tower peeked over the edge of the cliff. The elf seemed to have finally recovered a small amount of courage now that he was outside the cave. Looking to the east, he asked, "Are we leaving now? By the way, my thanks, I'm called Aelrith."

Brue nodded in greeting at Aelright. Thinking of something at the last minute, she huffed then darted back inside the cave, leaving Corilo with the magic maul for a while. Once inside the cave, Brue looked around for any sign of the oak staff. They'd recovered the treaty. Perhaps the staff was here, too. Hidden, maybe. She rooted through anything Boddynock hadn't stowed away, checked the cave walls for hidden passages, and checked where the ogres had made their beds, and by the fire.

OOC: We didn't really do a thorough search of the cave. Doing it now, before we move on. I rolled Perception earlier. Lemme know if you need another roll.

OOC: Nothing exciting, what was listed earlier. The staff is not there. Additionally, the party's cart is several miles away. Y'all hid it about two to three hours back when the trail split from the coast. You'll have to retrieve it if you want to carry all of that stuff back.

Corilo examined the maul with a look of amazement on his face "Solid rock, precisely shaped into a weapon. This is just incredible, never seen anything like it. Perhaps the dwarves might be able to make something like this...but no, on second thought, i don't think so. There's some sorcery at work here." he then turned towards Aelrith, and introduced himself. He planned to leave the heavy talking to others, but decided to listen to the conversation carefully, as he didn't really trust the elf yet.

Brue finished looking around inside the ogres' cave. Satisfied that nothing of import had been left behind, she retreated outside and rejoined the others. Accepting the maul back from Corilo, Brue nodded. "Feels good in the hand, too. Nicely weighted for bonking skulls." She grinned.

"So. Aelrith here says there may be more ogres in the area. I think we should seek them out and see to it they don't cause more destruction. That's if Aelrith is fit enough to walk, I s'pose." She looked around for (dis-)agreement.

Gnorth nods in approval. He knew the elf would not care too much for this plan, and the bard did not relish in the idea of placing the elf in harms way, but letting the ogres continue to raid and loot as they were would only lead to more bodies like those in the cave.

Aelrith's eyes boggled and he sputtered, "I don't plan on going any closer to where those ogres are! I'm heading east. If you were wise, you'd head that way too. Did someone mention a cart?"

"There is a cart, yes, but it's a ways a way. Bit of a walk just to get to it, not to mention all the way back to Port Kir. Where is it you'd be heading, friend? Port Kir, or elsewhere?" Brue didn't try to dissuade Aelrith from leaving. In truth, part of the genasi felt the proper thing to do would be to provide an Aelrith an escort back to the relative safe haven of Port Kir. She stifled that instinct, however; there were ogres on the loose, and those presented the bigger threat than the wellbeing of one lone injured elf.

Still looking east, Aelrith responded, "I was passing through Port Kir when the ogres attacked, headed south to Zazesspur. I don't really care how long of a walk it is, I'm not getting any closer to that place. If you all plan to stay here, I wish you good luck."

The elf turned east and started to depart before pausing. "Oh, I don't think it's just ogres around here. Once while I was awake, someone normal sized paid them a visit. The ogres noticed me and thumped me before I could get a good look at him, though."

Brue peered after Aelrith, wondering about his motive. He was badly injured and had been terrified by ogres, true, but he seemed awfully jaunty in wanting to head out on his own. In the dark. His decision to leave unescorted filled Brue with uncertainty.

OOC: Is he lying, either outright or by omission? [roll0]

Crap. :(
