Ner'zhul
This is based off of the Lich King from Warcraft.
Ner'zhul is an evil spirit trapped in the netherworld. Hid domain/aspects are death, undeath, disease, and cold. He resembles a black ghost wearing an Orc skull, and sometimes appears to others in the form of an Orc wearing armor made of ice, and a skull painted on his face. His totem is a black venomous snake. He has a cult of necromancers/shamans/liches called the Cult of the Damned, and wants to overrun the world with undead. He was created when he betrayed his own race/tribe to an enemy (fill in more about orcs in your world) and was sent to the spirit-world when he died. He is ruthless and sees his servants as fodder and tools.
How's this? You can take out the orc stuff if you want, but I thought it might be an interesting reason that humans hate orcs so much (if they do), but Ner'zhul hates humans and orcs equally. not sure where elves fit in though...
