Dungeon Masters Guild - Long Term Predictions

Personally I think that opening up the DMG store and putting out the 5e SRD was a timed move to increase DnD's shelf life after peaking on core rulebook sales. A staggered schedule puts less pressure on the WotC staff but it can also cause brand interest to stagnate. Bringing in community support in an official, somewhat controlled manner may possibly have been a reasonable compromise for the sake of the game's continued marketability.

What do you think the long term effects of this will be on the industry?

Do you think that developers other than WotC will be paying close attention to the DMG to comb for new talent?

Do you see any further big moves being made down the line on WotC's part?

One prediction I'd like to make is the gradual opening of other settings (for DMG users to author supplements for) besides the Forgotten Realms as the current edition ages. I can see Dark Sun, Eberron, and Dragonlance opening up to user content submission at some point, maybe not this year, but eventually.
