The purpose of the post seems to have been to draw attention to the issue, clearly. In that, it succeeded.

Given the official response, I'm not convinced a 'public hearing' would have been all that helpful, and that's OK. Not every issue of public concern needs to be hashed out in public. Sometimes, "being an ally" simply means letting folks deal with an issue on their own terms, even if those terms are not the same terms you would use in dealing with the issue.

There is no "evidence", insofar as you can't provide the allegedly harassing material in such a way as we know it is legitimate. You could type *anything* and claim someone did it.

I've closed this and Jabborwacky's other thread at his request. I wouldn't normally just close threads on request, but he does seem very upset and I have no wish to exacerbate that.
