Pathfinder 1E Brewing potions?

A guy at our local D&D sessions started playing an alchemist. Interesting class, but it seems a bit
difficult to get used to.

Question, can a level 9 alchemist make potions like a +5 barkskin and +5 shield of faith?

he can make potions via his Brew Potions feat, so 1st, 2nd and 3rd level spells are good to go, and he can craft them up to caster level 9... I doubt you can pull barkskin +5 at level 9... more like +3 or +4 (but I'm too lazy to look up the spell...)
