Half-Jack and Rat
Half-Jack slumped, exhausted and battered. With a plaintive squeak, Rat collapsed over Jack's foot. Tenderly, Jack picked up the rodent and placed him on his shoulder.
"Aye," he said to Warris. "Them little demonlings did a number on me and Rat." He looked up and around at the sound of the bells in the distance. "But if you're gonna do something, better make it fast. Don't think we're getting much respite tonight."
