Desairn Valley, Day 9, Pre dawn

As the light fades you search for a suitable place to set up camp for the night. Around midnight you hear heavy footsteps and the clanking of metal armour.

GM: With three of you voting for a long rest, I've taken the liberty of giving you one. It's not complete yet though - depending on your reaction to this encounter.

Duran wakes with a shock, he was having the most wonderful dream. The old man heads crawls off into the brush, his mastiff following.

Once satisfied be is suitably out the way,he touches Dron, the mastiff, and then the old man's eyes cloud over. Dron then walks out of the trying to look as feral as he can keeping his distance heads off in the direction of the sound.

OK a alot going on here so first off a stealth roll to hide[roll0]
Then casting beast sense, I took the liberty of assuming casting this while hidden wouldn't be to much issue as it only has a S component so just a bit of shuffling around a bit. Allows Duran to see and hear what the mastiff does with any benefit of its special senses. Want any more rolls let me know.

When Errol was awakened by the sound of approaching armor, he followed the others into the underbrush as he strung his crossbow and loaded a bolt, crouching and waiting quietly.

Reszor, magical rapier - Rapier (uncommon), requires attunement (Held by Errol)
Reszor was commissioned by a soldier turned assassin to enhance his ability to kill without being detected. It has a star motif etched into the blade and the handle is of blue leather. Dried blood clings to the blade and cannot be cleaned off. The weapon counts as magical and when you make an attack against on opponent while hidden the attack will make no noise. Additionally, when you make an attack with this weapon and get to use bonus damage dice, such as superiority dice or sneak attack dice, roll an additional die and discard the lowest. When you say the command word "Reszor" the blade will glow with dim light out to a 5ft radius, saying the command word again will turn the light off. Finally there is a mild curse on the blade that drives the wielder to kill. After rendering an opponent incapacitated or unconscious make a DC7 WIS saving throw to stop yourself from killing the creature.

Dron, trying to act feral, heads towards the noise but quickly grows hesitant, as though something isn't right. Through his ears Duran can discern there is only a single biped. It's gait seems slow and purposeless - starting and stopping, seemingly at random. Eventually Dron creeps close enough to see and Duran spots a single humanoid, covered from head to toe in heavy armour with glowing red eyes. He walks from rock to bush to tree, pausing at each as though waiting for something, before heading to the next.
