Ryan looks over the gathered crowd again. These are all American soldiers and contractors. They are dusty from whatever op they were supposed to be running. But instead of running the op, or even caring about their own safety, here they were, watching what is essentially a prize fight between two soldiers. Ryan realizes that these men and women are sitting ducks, standing around in the middle of an Iraqi street, in a war zone. Ryan appears to be the only one interested in his own personal safety.
As the fight continues, the crowd cheers for one combatant or another. Ryan can see looks of excitement and, perhaps, even aggression, as the soldiers and contractors watch the bloody fist-fight continue. Every time a solid punch lands, and blood is spilled, the crowd cheers even louder.
