Ryan makes his way towards the sound of people shouting. They are speaking in short bursts. It almost seems to Ryan as if they are reacting to something happening right now.

As Ryan turns a burned out street corner, he finds five US soldiers, dressed in their normal gear, watching a soldier fighting someone in a plaza. The soldiers have not noticed Ryan.

Ryan lets out an audible sigh of relief at the sight of honest troopers and not ghosts! He starts moving causation too them (does not want to spook them just pooping up out of no where). When he gets close enough he says "Psstt...friendlies on your six"

As Ryan approaches the group, none of them seem to notice. Instead, their attention is fixed upon one of their fellow soldiers, in a fist fight with what appears to be an Iraqi soldier. Ryan seems the fervor on their faces, as if this is some sort of prize fight. Ryan can see that money has changed hands.

As Ryan gets closer, and he whispers, one of them turns. He recognizes this soldier as Corporal Jameson "Jenny" Walton. He is one of the men on the forward observer team that Ryan was supposed to be guiding / protecting. Ryan sees a blank look on Cpl. Walton's face. The man pauses for a moment and then turns his attention back to the fight.

"Ah... what's going on fellows? Maybe we should help out here..." Ryan is confused, but then everything about this day has been confused and FUBARD.

Ryan grabs Corporal Walton by the shoulder and tries to turning him back to face him. He might be suffering from some sort of shock, Ryan thought. "Corporal, wants the matter? Snap out of it dude. This is not a friendly zone. We need to get on with our objectives man. What the hell is going on here?"

Ryan looks over the gathered crowd again. These are all American soldiers and contractors. They are dusty from whatever op they were supposed to be running. But instead of running the op, or even caring about their own safety, here they were, watching what is essentially a prize fight between two soldiers. Ryan realizes that these men and women are sitting ducks, standing around in the middle of an Iraqi street, in a war zone. Ryan appears to be the only one interested in his own personal safety.

As the fight continues, the crowd cheers for one combatant or another. Ryan can see looks of excitement and, perhaps, even aggression, as the soldiers and contractors watch the bloody fist-fight continue. Every time a solid punch lands, and blood is spilled, the crowd cheers even louder.

I have got to do something to stop this, but what? And what the heck is happened to them? Why is this happening... its just to weird, Ryan thinks. Hoping to shock the man back to normal Ryan does the only thing he can think of (which he also thinks is probably stupid BUT there is really isn't any time to think of anything better) and slaps the trooper full in the face, putting some muscle behind the blow. He watches the man's eyes but also keeps glancing at his hands to make sure he does not go for a weapon...

Ryan slaps the soldier with some force. The man staggers back a bit and knocks into a nearby man. Both of them turn to look at Ryan. He can see that both men have some sort of passion or intensity in their eyes. The further soldier shoves the other man back towards Ryan. Both seem inexorably drawn to the prize fight that's happening in the middle of the street.

OOC: Have Ryan make a WITS + COMPOSURE roll, a Perception check, basically.
