The ooze might have attempted to grab one of the bodies laying around, but as the companions move the fallen to the elevator, the thing decides it's time to escape. It's amusing to see how it struggles to gain distance towards the end of the path. The auroch bashes against the stone floor, opening way and going to the corner as the thing crawls back into darkness. Soon, though, the invocation disappears, returned to its original place as nature chooses to rest.

With the corridors silent, Morgrym is able to observe the environment with more care. The excavation is rich in details and made with precision, clearly dwarven. But there's a strange twist to it, as if something mystical pervaded the entire conception of these corridors. Small signs are left on the walls, as little instructions to inhabitants, travelers or occasional trespassers. It's also older than the town above, making it hard to believe that this was once just a mine. Apparently, someone profited from older ducts to reach further areas, just as if the mine had coincidentally hit an older, secret area. After some thought, the statues carved on the way down, as well as the apparently meaningless signs, begin to make sense for him. Morgrym feels the twist of nature in the area, as if the world convulsed with an alien presence crawling through its guts, and something seems amiss within these caves. Memory races through, until he understands: these are dwarven halls. Only they weren't made by the usual kind of dwarves...

[Morgrym notices traces of dwergar presence all around. In Gaelia, the Dwergar are dwarves that sold their souls to otherworldly entities in exchange for power. When the war between the elves and dwarves raged, the dwergar tried to steal elfic control over the many aspects of the world by tainting it with the otherworldly nature of external planes of existence. As a result, they blighted parts of the underworld forever. Each dwergar hovel might be a gate to a world of untold horrors, or the heart of corruption... Or just an abandoned - albeit disturbing - shaft in the ground]

Soon, the companions' efforts bear fruit, and their enemies are relocated. Surprisingly enough, two of them still live: the leader and his bodyguard. They're losing their strength at a steady pace, though, and are bound to die, if left untreated.

[Sooo, the leader is *Archon rolls a die* alive for now! Aaaand *dice rolling behind the shield* so is the bodyguard. The rest of them is dead, unfortunatelly. You guys deliver a pretty heavy punch!]

The question in everyone's minds is the same. This might have some dire consequences... Morgrym and Marius consider mostly that the militias might have turned away for a cut - not an uncommon sight in these parts. Hagadark considers that some of his orcs - specially those interested in taking over the tribe - might be involved, even intimidating the militias to get it their way. Shayuri, on the other hand, is deeply concerned that this might have a larger impact, specially considering the oddity of the now retreating ooze, as well as the assumed magic bounty now resting on Morgrym's head.

Suddenly, Shayuri listens to a familiar voice, flickering in her mind as if to warn her of danger.

"There's another one... Unseen... Danger..." - an alarming image bolts through Shayuri's mind, stoked into it by the lingering soul that's now lodged within Shayuri's consciousness. The spirit shows a dark face coming from a obscure opening. The face is humanoid, brutal and black as ebony. Soon, it jolts out a slithering, two-tipped tongue between the lips, and as it moves forward, an anaconda-like body, black and moist, moves forward: a man's head in a black snake. As their eyes meet, the image vanishes.

The spirit knows more, Shayuri understands it. But the risks of showing more feel too great, and the lingering presence rescinds to the back of the warlock's mind.

[Shayuri can push it through a simple wisdom test, but there's always the chance of losing part of herself in the process.]

Marius kneels as the leader is brought to the lift and fairly expertly binds the worst of his wounds and frostbitten skin. He binds his hands together, but is not really harsh, the man will pose no threat for the near future. As the dwarf opens his eyes the monk fixes him with hard stare.
"You are about to die. Do you have anything to say that would lighten your soul?"

OOC: I didn't really expect any to be alive since there were multiple blasts (area) from alchemical weapons :D Now we're in worse position because we cannot kill him

The sorceress stiffens at the unbidden vision, then looks around warily and quickens her steps to catch up to the others.

"Everyone, be on guard. There's something terrible coming. It...looks like some kind of naga, maybe. Or some other serpentine creature. Black-scaled. Very large."

Quite unnerved, she casts a spell. A circle briefly flickers in the air before her, like a clear disc about the size of a warrior's shield...then it's gone as if it never was.

(Casting Shield and keeping a vigil for the critter!)

Hagadark heeds the words of the sorceress and prepares enlarge extract in one hand and staggering cold bomb in the other.
"Lets see if it can live through the meeting. Hostile? Or just curious?" shaman asks Shayuri.
"Maybe it just wants to thank us for freeing its lair from interlopers?" he grins

The aurochs and the flaming sphere disappeared as they retreated from the ooze up the elevator. As Marius tended to the dwarven leader and his bodyguard, Morgrym considers what he saw.

“Those were duergar tunnels,” he grumbled. “Tainted, unnatural places. Nae wonder such a thing was doon there.”

He glanced at Shayuri wen she gave her warning.

“We need t’ get t’ the girl!” he grumbled. “Anyone need healin’?” He cast another spell, his skin darkening and growing rough and thick.

"It looked pretty hostile," Shayuri commented dryly. "I realize we're still new to each other, but as a rule of thumb I don't give frightened warnings because I think something is approaching to thank us for services rendered."

"You sounded very composed, not frightened at all, Shayuri." Marius comments as he stabilizes the guard

OOC: frightened would be Guy from Croods cartoon screaming about the end of the world :D

The group barely has any time to get their bearings. From above, taunting cries and bashing shields can be heard! How could they know, so quickly, of the conflict taking place down here? A woman's voice can be heard, first debating, then screaming in pain.

Suddenly, a fizzle is heard, and a round, bulbous object flies down, bashing against the walls of the shaft, right towards the elevator's platform! Everyone's eyes widen as they see an artifact similar to those employed just now by Hagadark, it's nature concealed in a resistant black sphere, ready to explode!

[Quick, reflexes save everyone! DC 13!]

Marius is on the move even before the thing flying is halfway there. He avoids it deftly wheeling around it - and is half way toward the source before the thing lands.
"Hagadark, if your climbing spell still works go help the girls. Shayuri, help? Mourgrym, now's the time to trust the orc and lets deal with this! Start the elevator and help as long as you can."

OOC: Passed the save and have evasion :) How fast is the elevator? i.e. is it faster to turn it on and move out?
Did the leader say anything before the attack kills him?

And just to be clear: he asks that Mourgrym leaves some help (summon), but not necessarily stay down here (but can) and that Shayuri stays and cast. I think Hagadark is the best option against multiple low(er) level guards - unless Shayuri has sleep that can miss the girls :p

Also, if anyone can tell idiot monk that naga are dangerous and that we need full party for this, it would be nice. Ideally before he's killed :)

[sblock=Actions]
Reflex save vs 13: 1D20+6 = [12]+6 = 18
Unarmed attack; Damage: 1D20+8 = [12]+8 = 20; 1D6+8 = [2]+8 = 10 <-- in case 40 is enough to reach the target (or if it within 80 charge!)
