Mello, is someone was going hexbalde(sword and board) and Human Variant; what would you recommend them take as a feat?

Also, this probably wouldn't work well, but duel wielding could be ok as well(well maybe).

Unless it's some kind of class feature you would need Warcaster

Warcaster (+booming blade) or inspiring leader.

Dual wielding can work for lower levels. But at 5 your cantrip damage scales, and you can keep your +2AC. So it's hard to justify.

You can put your sword away when you need to cast a spell, and then just draw it again next turn. So it's not required.

Warcaster brings so much more tho. The Advantage on Concentration Checks and using a Cantrip as AoO

War caster or no, spells with material components will cause problems.

Material Components aren't a problem with any single one handed or two-handed weapon.
It's only dual wielding or sword 'n' board that have problems.
