How does one get to the poop deck I see no stairs. I'm assuming there under the mass of pirates?

So the image in the upper left sits right over the rear of the ship. The stairs are located to the right of the black line, against the rail, next to 13 and 11. To get to the poop deck that the bbeg is on, the stairs are currently being occupied by pirates. Well actually the monk has successfully killed a pirate and moved onto the stairs and the other staircase is being occupied by the pirate in front of the paladin.

I'm adjacent to allies and enemies. With paladin threatening left most pirate I get an advantage, don't I?

If not, I misunderstaood advantage rules, but first roll is still 11, thus, it hits.
