As the shark charges the thrown brush skips harmlessly behind it, the dart hits it's mark but doesn't penetrate it's hide, and the attempt to befriend the animal is met with intense imagery that shows an intense urge to destroy. As the shark nears Luthor unleashes a thunder-wave in an attempt to slow or completely negate the monsters charge.

Luthor (almost) calmly awaits the closing of the great beast. He waits last moment before releasing the power of Vulkar the Mighty. Unfortunately, his mortal servants are subject to random fluctuations in power and his blast is not nearly as powerful as that against pirates couple of months ago. But it still hits the brute.

Action: Thunderwave damage to the shark : 2D8 = [3, 4] = 7 (and anything in 15' cube in front and downward from Luthor)
Shark (and anything alive around him) needs to make CON save DC 14. If the save fails, push 10' away from Luthor. If made, half damage and no push.

Move (if applicable): return back over the railing for safer hold against the collision

As the shark is about to make contact with the ship a loud thunderwave emits from Luthor. The water surges away from the area, but the shark is unphased as his momentum carries him the rest of the way despite the absence of water. The shark rams the ship with a loud crack as the ship shutters violently and wood shatters from the impact. Cries of a breach launch the Sailors into action as many rush below deck to make whatever hasty repairs they can before the shark returns.

OOC: You are free to take pot shots at it as it swims away to prepare for another charge. There is a mounted crew served crossbow on the aft poopdeck that can be manned with assistance from a Sailor if you choose to, otherwise the Sailors will fire upon the creature once a round.

Ramas looks around the deck, he felt it happen his last spell triggered something what he didn't know. Seeing the glyphs on the shark Ramas mutters a few words.

OOC: The last spell triggered a surge giving see invisibility if it matters any. With his action casting detect magic wild surge roll [roll0] and effect if applicable [roll1]. Using half movement to maintain his braced position

Thren moves over to one of the crossbows, "Ah, interesting. An old design but...." he murmurs to himself as he casually slides himself behind the firing mechanism.

OOC: Ranged doesn't get bonus from stat unfortunately for every bow user ever. But the damage is 2d6 and there are two of them, so if anyone else has no ranged options.

The shark was some thing intent on evil this day, no natural beast. The dragonborn cleric extended his hand and murmured the words of a prayer calling on the divine power of Sylvanus. A small column of fire slammed down at the shark.

The shark is hit with radiant flame not once but twice making it dart from one direction to the other as if trying to dodge the blasts after the fact. A couple of sailors manning the other crossbow score a hit while the one manned by Thren falls short. It does a wide loop and begins it's charge back toward the ship.

OOC: Detect magic reveals the ship has a number of protective spells permanently cast upon it. Kunka's sword is magical as well as jaquees' whip.

The Sailor helping Thren on the mounted crossbow uses his action to reload after you fire. If you can be persuasive *cough cough* you can get another Sailor to help you aim, thus granting adv.
