Arrival (spoilers)

Saw this yesterday. It was... interesting. A cerebral movie about the way language forms the way you see the universe ((and, in this movie, gives you superpowers to see the future). It wasn't as Close Encounters as I was expecting/hoping, and not a lot happened. Time loop solution to the problem.

I read the short story it was based on. That was a good story.

The movie was fine. The added material wasn't as tight as the core, and because of the added length, you expected characters to be more fully rendered. Jeremy Renner's character didn't do enough. But I still liked the alien's portrayal.
