381 Pages of Monster Ecology, Lore, and DM Resources

A heck of a lot of people spent a heck of a lot of time making this.

/r/dndbehindthescreen has spent several years writing in-depth monster ecology and lore for every single monster entry in the 5e MM. I spent 3 days non-stop editing a compilation of the project's works. It then took an additional week of work from from 5 other users to fix a glitch I encountered on the last day.

It is 381 pages of rich, beautifully written, entertaining DM resources. Enjoy. https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/5j49zb/monster_ecology_anthology_document/

(I'm linking to the reddit post so that there can be continued support for the document. The current lead editor is working on an A4 format version, and there's still some grammatical/spelling issues hidden in there.)

The project was done in The Homebrewery, which can be found here: http://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/

This is pretty dang cool! I particularly like the sidebars, like the DM's Toolbox entries a lot have or the plot ideas under Demilich.

There is a lot of stuff in here, just skimming it right now. Wow.

Though I do have one criticism - if I fit a page to my screen the text is difficult to read. I'm not sure if it's the parchment background or the font - the DM's Toolkit sections with a sans serif font and solid color background are easier to read.

Yes, I have noticed this as well. It's something to do with the subtle differences between what the Homebrewery makes, and the actual trade dress of the PHB. Perhaps a font change is a worthy suggestion to Mr.Tolksdorf for the next update.

This is great - thank you for sharing. My one suggestion, add to the downloads section here at EnWorld. It will get a lot more use then a forum thread I think
